NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Hey there. My name is Richard, I live in Camarillo, CA. and I'm new to this site but frequent ExPo. I've attended several Overland Expos and met some great people. My ride is my daily driver...again. 1996 Dodge Ram with shell setup in the back. I mostly enjoy exploration trips into the mountains and Great Basin but desert trips are not out of the question if it's the right time of year. Hoping to meet some like minded folks at the Rendezvous. :truck

Welcome, great to see another full size dodge in the group

Welcome aboard neighbor. im out here in Simi.

Hey Everyone, found this site through Expo and the Appalachian Rendezvous. Looks like a great place I look forward to being a member of the forum. I live Charlotte NC and love the outdoors, with life and work I do not get to spend as much time as I would like outdoors. Hope to be able to change that though since being outside is my Zen time. Looking forward to this event at Uwharrie most likely will be my first trip of the year. I have a Toyota 4runner and Jeep Wrangler for my adventures. Pics below are from Uwharrie National Forest right down the street from the Rendezvous.

Cheers,

Thomas

Welcome aboard sir! I too have a mixed stable of Toyotas and Jeeps and often find myself arguing to myself about the pitfalls of owning either.

When you sort it out please let me know I'm in the same boat (albeit row boat) rowing furiously to keep up but only going in circles

Thanks Haggis, you are correct I go back and forth between comfort/cargo room versus solid axle/performance.

Well I started out with 1 Jeep and 1 Toyota and now have 3 Toyotas and the Jeep up for sale so I guess one side of my mind is winning.

Just wanted to say hello. My name is John and I'm from upstate NY. My rig is an 01 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a ton of upgrades. Most recent was a ford 8.8 rear axle swap and adding an Ox locker up front. Also currently working on an M416 trailer project.

I have some family in NC so I figured I'd sign up for the Appalachian rendezvous. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys there.

New here but I'm on several other forums (Hooligan or HooliganSKC). I'm going to take a look around here, but so far I'm really liking what I see. Cool site. I'm from NC originally but now I'm smack in the center of the States in Kansas. I'm planning on heading out for the Rendezvous in October.

I drive a '07 JKU Sahara that I've had since new (Oct. 2006). It's built to handle most anything and hasn't let me down yet...knock on wood. I'm also considering getting a V-Strom or DR650 for some two wheeled adventures (gotta sell the Sportster first...hint hint).

You can also find me at @OverlandOdyssey on Twitter and Overland Odyssey on Facebook & Google+.

Welcome to AAV! Lots of Jeep guys here, and quite a few dual sport riders too. The V-Strom is a sweet machine that would get you out to the Rendezvous with a quickness!

Hello everyone from Baltimore, MD.

Found you guys through Mid-Atlantic Overland Society on Facebook. I stumbled across them somewhat recently and super glad I did.

I drive a '09 Xterra which I've done a bunch of work to. I'm curious to see how many Xterras are on here.
My build page is here (hopefully the link works): http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60400

Anyway I'll be attending your Appalachian Rendezvous which I'm am excited about. Look forward to meeting and making new friends!

Welcome to AAV!

There are a few of us on here with Xterra's. It's not my primary vehicle, but has been great for hiking trailhead transportation.

Welcome to AAV!

So do Gorilla's have proper names like their human cousins or do they just refer to themselves with their species name? ;)

Hi everyone! My name is Ricky from San Marcos, CA. I read nothing but good things about this site and glad I can be a part of it. I'm planning to attend the 2014 Mountain Rendezvous in my 1995 Mitsubishi Montero SR. Looking to hear great stories, learn to from the wise, and eat and drink beer with the best.

Hello! This is Vigorous. Just join recently and will also be attending 2014 Mountain Rendezvous in a Ford E350 Adventure Van (sorry not 4x4) with the family if not friends. I have been meaning to attend this since last year but unfortunately my work is based of clients needs and they needed me at the wrong time. I am more proactive this year putting another another agent to cover me so I can make it this year. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Hello!

This introduction is a bit late since I met many of you at last year's Mountain Rendezvous, but figured I'd go ahead and introduce myself. I've been 4wheeling for the past 17 years, earlier if you count riding in the bed of my dad's pickup. As a San Diego native most of my experience is out in the Colorado Desert, I spend about half my weekends during the cool season out in Anza-Borrego.

My current rig is an '06 F150 supercrew 4x4. I've added real skidplates and upgraded the transmission and differential cooling but am leaving it mostly stock, it gets me where I need to go and does a great job of hauling two Suzuki DRZ400s that my wife and I use to explore the trails.
