NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Greetings, fellow adventurists! My wife and I are from the east coast, but have made CA our home for the last 6 years thanks to the US Air Force. We love camping, mtn biking, exploring, off-roading, etc. We attended the Overland Expo this year and were so pleased to meet like-minded travelers who understand that a 4x4 is still a 4x4 even without 37 in + tires! Our primary overlanding rig is a 2004 Tacoma Access cab with a Wildernest camper. It has been a slow build over the last 8 years, but it's getting there. I'm about to re-gear to 4.88 and put 33 in AT's on. Hoping to post the build some day. Anyway, we're excited to attend the Mountain Rendezvous, and look forward to making new friends!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Salim Miro. I owned Country Homes Campers from 1989 to 1997. I closed CHC due to lack of VW, Aerostar and Astro Vans. My website is still active www.countryhomescampers.com to help my old customers find parts and educate new owners with their campers. I have recently reopened CHC to sell parts, Shady Boy awnings and sell my custom Ring and Pinion for the Automatic Vanagon. I do not build conversion but I did sell my VW Vanagon Pop-top molds to Andrew Flint who is in NY. His information is in my site. I have always enjoyed camping in my VW and I look forward in seeing other rigs and exchanging ideas.

Hello everyone, My name is Matt and I have a 2007 Tacoma. I am a former Marine that can't get enough of roughing it in the outdoors. I am a cell site technician for various cell companies so I get to spend most of my working time offroading to mountain tops and through the desert from here to Colorado. I look forward to having some fun on "my time" offroading with you all and exchanging adventure stories.

Popping in to update ---- the Power Wagon is gone and JKU is in the driveway.
Doesn't tow as well but sure takes up less space and uses less fuel.

Hopefully this new rig will better fit your needs, but I hate to hear of the "loss" of a power wagon (wait for a comment from Dave) The JKU does look good with the teardrop though, do you have more info on the trailer?

No comment needed... :bandwagon
:lol
Welcome back Bill - we need more Georgians here, looking forward to hanging out at ARV!

I look forward to seeing you and the family with the JKU at the Appalachian Rendezvous in NC this October.

Hello everyone from Baltimore, MD.

Found you guys through Mid-Atlantic Overland Society on Facebook. I stumbled across them somewhat recently and super glad I did.

I drive a '09 Xterra which I've done a bunch of work to. I'm curious to see how many Xterras are on here.
My build page is here (hopefully the link works): http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60400

Anyway I'll be attending your Appalachian Rendezvous which I'm am excited about. Look forward to meeting and making new friends!View attachment 7813

Nice X! We have an '06 that is the main trail vehicle and are working on a support vehicle project, since my '03 X went to our daughter. Have you been to the Gone Moab Nissan event? Fantastic shindig! (Xterra Nation is also an excellent resource for mod information without the drama of TNX.)

Yeah! Xterra nation has a great group of guys without drama... This forum also has a great group of like minded adventurist!

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. I live in Southern California, and I volunteer with Search & Rescue out here. My adventure vehicle is a 97 Toyota T100. I have a baby coming soon, so I bit the bullet and just ordered a Flippac for the truck. Fun stuff!

Cheers,

Arclight
