NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Hey All,

Name is Tommy. Found this site because of a post over on Expo Portal about the Appalachian Rendezvous. My wife Angela and I have been chasing adventures together for over 12 years and we currently drag our 4 kids along for the ride. I really enjoy WW kayaking and spend most of my time traveling to places to find great new places to kayak. We also Hike, MTB and generally do other outdoorsy fun things. I am really pumped to be coming over to the Rendezvous this year. I have an 07 tundra with a mild lift, winch and a few other toys as well as a locked 95 YJ with Spring over etc… I am hoping that the wife will want to bring both to NC. I wheel the tundra as hard as I do the YJ, honestly it has proven itself time and time again. I don't see many other 2nd gen tundras on the trail but it is always fun when someone asks how we got the tundra back "there"

Hello Everyone, my name is Brian and I am currently located in Duluth Minnesota. My main adventure pursuits are backpacking, canoeing, and the study and practice of wilderness survival/bushcraft. I am a leather craftsman, and it has been my full time job for over 2 years. My main product line is knife sheaths, however I do design and build other outdoor gear as well. Here is a picture of one of my sheaths. (photo by BlackScoutSurvival)

Welcome! Nice work!

A lot of us have a weakness for the above craftsmanship you displayed above. I encourage you to start your own thread on that subject and/or share a web site of samples of your other projects.

I have some Kydex and other components languishing on my workbench for a survival/knife sheath I've toyed with making, influenced by Martin Swinkels. Maybe you can help encourage some of our members with your skills?

Hello everyone. My name is Shawn I live in north east Texas. I have recently been bitten by the adventure camping bug. I have always camped in a travel trailer with my family but like the idea of getting into the back country. My current back road rig is a 2000 jeep tj that I have slowly modified to haul all my junk around. My other hobbies are fishing and hunting. Pretty much anything outdoors.

I came across this Forum by chance. I'm also on the Expedition Forum but kept finding it to be to "overseas" for me. They had great ideas but some just don't cross well over here in the States. I dabble a lot on the PBB and don't mind the attitude at all from over there. Great tech and threads. So here I am, trying this Forum out.

I enjoy camping, offloading, breaking crap and fixing other peoples vehicles, long walks on the beach and engineering stuff to make my camping experience better. Most of my trips are Cali based but working to adventure out to neighboring states. I am in ScoutsWest club, Main Chapter in which this year I am the IHWR Chairman for IHWR 2015. I'm torn between my Rescue/RV build and the possibility of a small off road camping trailer for my 72 Scout II.
Anyhow, nice to meet whoever you all are and hope I can learn a few things from this Forum and maybe meet some people out on the trail.

Here's a couple picks of my current builds...

1972 IH Scout II that I dubbed Bruiser II.

1976 IH Loadstar Rescue Ambulance that I am converting to an RV. I'm calling it Rescue/RV and yes, it's 4 wheel Drive.

Welcome and for sure don't let that 120 full turn you away get the mods to put you on the wait list ... there are always a few that have to bail at the last minute. Your rig goes in my "Haven't seen one of those before column" very cool

I'm gonna have to look up MRV, first i've heard of this. Guessing it's some off road/trailer/RV deal?

EDIT: Found it, http://americanadventurist.com/Foru...ain-Rendezvous-Official-Thread&highlight=2014 , might have to look into going.
EDIT#2: Looks like the list is full, WOW, 120 reserved. Defiantly next year for sure!

I was just going to send you the link. As Libertysand said, post up in the MRV thread and ask to be put on the waiting list. It is a great event, you don't want to miss it
