NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Hello all....Found this through the SoCal FJ Cruiser forum (at Denxx, above). Looking forward to Mountain Rendezvous and meeting some like minded folks...and getting my son used to camping. He'll be a whopping 2 by then....starting him early. His first camping event was TDS, which can be a little hectic. He was a champ and endured a 4 hour trail ride with the All Pro crew.

Good night to everybody! I'm assuming nobody has signed me up for the Mountain Rendezvous until I introduce myself here. Well, I used to drive an LC 80 series but now I do it in a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport AWD. It is all stock except for 265/75/16 tires. Stock is where I plan to stay - no John Bull or Rubicon type trails in my destination plans. I'm more into the camping and exploring new places by mountain bike or feet. Hope to see more of the outdoors with some of y'all. :)

Hello everyone. My name is Jim. I'm in the SoCal Los angles area with a 2010 Tacoma. Been offroad camping for about a year now and and I'm always looking forward to the next. I look forward to meeting others with similar interests.

Hola! Klayton From Tucson here. Gunnermoose referred me to this group. Tried to introduce me to Dave at OX14 but Dave, you must be a very busy guy!

I will mostly lurk, but will chime in when I have something to add, or when I go off on a rant....lol.

Lets see, things I'm into. Obviously not overlanding/ exploring the great outdoors [sarcasm off]. I also like to shoot, both with a camera and things with a bit more bite. I enjoy machining as a hobby and fabrication as well. I'm an engineer by day and want to be mad inventor by night.

Currently have a 13 JKUR and an M416 which is getting some attention at the moment. Will post some more details in the appropriate locations.

If anyone in Tucson needs assistance with building, machining, or designing something just let me know. I'm fairly resourceful.

Hey gang,

My name is Ben and I have an overlanding problem...so much so that I started business selling and installing overlanding and off road parts here in Raleigh, NC. The wife, Jess, is a school teacher. We have a 2013 Tacoma with a few goodies installed to get us out into the remote camping and 4wheeling locations we like to frequent. We are really looking forward to the Rendezvous at Uwharrie this fall. Glad to see the community expanding east. This looks like a great website and we cant wait to be more active here! Thanks for making it Dave!

Welcome to American Adventurist, Ben! You'll find that most everyone here has the same problem as you so that's a good thing. :) My wife is also a school teacher. What grade does your wife teach?

If there's anything we can do to help in your efforts, let us know. See you at the Appalachian Rendezvous and welcome to the community...cheers!

I was hoping I was among friends. My wife is a 2nd grade teacher ...

Never heard of your magazine Outdoorx4...I took a look at the samples and it looks great! I really like the little bit I could see....especially how the articles on travels had notes on where to go specifically to see what was talked about. That is a cool concept that doesn't seem to be talked about much, I guess so people can preserve their secret spots. A bit of a visitors guide feel. I like it! We will have to look into a subscription for sure...

My wife taught 1st and 2nd grade for six years and most recently is teaching Kindergarten.

Thanks for the fine compliments, much appreciated. Again, welcome to the board. It is becoming a very nice community and am sure you'll enjoy. Cheers!

Hello all

My name is Dylan and I found out about this site and the upcoming Mountain Rendezvous from the Land Cruiser guys over at IH8mud. I have been working in the off-road industry for a while but was always an adventurist by nature. I grew up completely "off grid" but now that I am in the metropolis of southern CA I feel the need to get out and do this recreationally. My current project vehicle s a 96 FZJ80 that is starting to transform into a fun all arounder. Previously I did more of the go fast desert stuff and before that my very first vehicle was a 84 yota old school rock crawler.

Welcome Dylan - tell Jeremy I said what's up and to get his arse up to the Rendezvous!

Hey there. My name is Richard, I live in Camarillo, CA. and I'm new to this site but frequent ExPo. I've attended several Overland Expos and met some great people. My ride is my daily driver...again. 1996 Dodge Ram with shell setup in the back. I mostly enjoy exploration trips into the mountains and Great Basin but desert trips are not out of the question if it's the right time of year. Hoping to meet some like minded folks at the Rendezvous. :truck
