NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Hey guys. My names Garrett and I found my way over by recommendation of the Xpedition outfitters guys. I convinced my wife to move back to Colorado after a decade long stint in the silent service (submarine fleet). We are running a first and second gen Xterra as well as a first gen Toyota Hilux.

Welcome Brother of the Phin.

Hi there! I'm Torrey, and I found my way over here at the prodding of my other half (SpongeX). Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Wow, just realized I never posted in the intro-thread.

Hi, I'm Herbie, but my wife calls me 'Mike'.

I'm a Robotics Firmware Engineer, and all around tinkerer. I got into Overlanding because my wife wasn't into "camping", but we'd had a baby who needed the outdoors, and I was too fat to do much backpacking and carry baby stuff at the same time. Fortunately I got the "fat" thing under control, but I'm still not carrying my kid and her gear on my back.

Starting not long after she was born, I bought a low-miles Astro van in Tuscon and drove it back to San Diego. Then I bought another van in Vancouver, BC and drove it back to San Diego whereupon it died 2 blocks from home. I cut the pop-top and some bits off of that van and grafted them onto my fresh Arizona Astro and the work hasn't stopped since.

In addition to the pop-top it's been converted to 4x4 with low range, got a water system, two beds, a toilet, and a host of electronic goodies. More importantly, the wife is now an experienced camper and that baby is an energetic four year old.

Hi I am Dan, I am a giant Gnome. I enjoy desert tortoise bean soup, cooked by the sun. I have been enjoying being tall most of my life. I like to travel anywhere where I have no relatives. I'm something of a rock hound, prospector, fossil hunting archaeologist pita. I love my dog., Bayleaf. Woof!
I am a farmer, forward thinking preparer, tinkerer and and fartist. I collect military surplus and love history. I can paint anything as long as its not one color, like white. I am mandalaman. Sometimes I'm creative. Do not press the Don't Panic button! Huh?... Wait! ...Yup, that's me.

Actually, I'm a caring, nurturing, loyal person whom likes to at least make himself laugh that suffers from wanderlust. I found you guys while lurking on exped portal. Glad to be here!

Welcome! I remember seeing you around Fireside Chat on ExPo! :)

Hey guys, this is Alex and Ben from DirtRoadTrip, some of you might already know us from facebook and expo. TangoBlue has been pushing us to get our butts over here the past few months so we finally decided to take the leap.

I currently drive a built 2013 Land Cruiser, and Ben has a well built 2010 4Runner Trail. We're both local to Northern Virginia and hope to link up with more of you guys in the future.

Welcome. Next time maybe you should listen to Tango a bit sooner. He seems to be giving good advice :)
