The Random Thoughts Thread

Had to Google "Icarus" big shot?
Close but no cigar, my people came from Jutland a few years latter. Vikings, not the football team.
Anyway,

Yes, I remember it sonny! :tango
Dear Walter Cronkite , maybe the LAST broadcaster you could actually believe (we just this new deal called a "TV")? I was trying to warm up after delivering 100+ newspapers in Mpls. Wednesdays (lot's of weekend ads on Weds.) The next day was a big paper even for a Thursday. Ask your grandfather/father what a "Newspaper" is.
:mike

I delivered the Omaha World Herald as a kid. Winters were BRUTAL. I always got my ads etc Saturday, I put them together while watching "Emergency".Sunday morning, I'd stuff the actual news part of the paper with the ads, etc. Paper's were required to be at the customers house by 5:30AM. Ahh the memories!

My son had a paper route when he was a kid. I think his was the last age group where paper boys were local kids delivering papers from their bicycles.

I just can't win apparently. Machelle has wanted another cat since we moved and left our other cats living with my son at our old house. I'm not a huge cat fan, never the less I tried to adopt one from a local cat rescue today. Sent them the application etc. I was DENIED...they are a HUMANE cat adoption agency...their cats only go to homes where the cat will be indoor only.

I'm sure I scored more points when I e-mailed back and told them that was the stupidest thing I'd heard today, confining a cat to it's house for it's whole life and calling it HUMANE. Our old cats (rescue brother/sister) have survived just fine being indoor/outdoor for the last 12 years or so. Cats are marginally domesticated at best IMO and deserve to be somewhat free. I get the song bird deaths being an issue, (apparently digging up trees to pour the foundation for their house was eco-friendly) , but at the same time I also get that my cats did their jobs and kept the rodents out of the fruit trees in my back yard. A new cat would be mostly indoor, but not confined to the house.

Don't even get me started on rescue groups. Their hearts are in the right place most of the time, but many of them can't see the forest because of the trees.

Agree, one near me requires a 3 day waiting period after you choose the animal. If you still want it after three days, you can go back and get it. I'd rather rescue a large Stromboli with dipping sauce from our local pizzeria.

Well, shoot! You guys better figure out some way to solve this problem!

Using member feedback, I completely reorganized the forum sections today. Everything in it's place and a place for everything.

Right, but before Nori gets back home you have some chores you've been putting off. Get back to work... :rollingpin

Huh, didn't notice but the reorganization will never work. Trust me, I Googled it, said right there on the interwebs that it wouldn't work!

Sure hope the Bronco doesn't end up as ugly as the Ranger.

Doesn't seem to have the same lines the international Ranger does. More car like on the front end with some Tacoma ques around the headlights and grill.

The new Ram 1500 is interesting also. There will be a hybrid option for the 3.6 and the hemi. We may see some serious truck wars in the very near future.
