The Random Thoughts Thread

I think that there's an agenda, with some people, to quietly decrease the number of visitors to some of these places. Yosemite for example cannot sustain the current number of visitors much less the inevitable increase in years to come. There's only so much land there in that valley, and "more infrastructure" is a double edged sword.

One way to decrease the load on the environment and existing infrastructure is to crank up prices.

Same in rocky Mountain and Yellowstone.

As it pertains to b-boy, I think to some in this country he is considered a hero. I don't know about karma but I do know payback can be a b----

I just received my order. The print quality is lacking, almost like a printer running out of ink with noticeable streaks. I got it on brown and it sort of looks like wood grain. I like the concept well enough that I’ll wear it. Hopefully someone can find a better company as I think this design would sell like hot cakes. Maybe I’m showing my age a bit there. Do hot cakes still sell well? Did they ever? And why?

Update, I sent them the photos and complained about the quality and they offered to replace it for free or give me credit towards another shirt. I went for a replacement so we’ll see what they send. I’ll update when it comes in and wait to buy a high quality version when produced.

Over the last year I've had the good fortune to travel far and wide in my truck - from the Pacific to the Atlantic and many places in between. One thing that always fascinates me is fuel prices, and how they vary by state. Saw this today and it got me thinking again how your travel dollars go further in the less expensive "dark blue" states. California gas prices are insane - it's a dollar cheaper per gallon in Arizona!

*Diesel #2 prices seemed to be pretty consistent nationwide, with B20 (biodiesel) always being about .20 per gallon cheaper IMO (but B20 seems to return lower MPG so I avoid it).

We just had a $.12/gal for gas and $.20/gal for diesel taxes added to our already high fuel costs in CA. I'm sure that $$$ will go to road infrastructure as intended once we get three more layers of bureaucracy in place to manage it .

Just send your thank you note to Sacramento addressed to Governor Jerry Moonbeam and his cronies. Supposedly $2B+ annually for them to squander. How much of that do you really think will actually get to improving road/bridge infrastructure in the state!?

The roads in California are PRISTINE compared to some other states. Just sayin'.

The roads in the Midwest suffer from the freeze/thaw cycle - two seasons here, winter and construction.

Uh... as a former resident of Illinois and the Midwest the roads not only suffer the effects of weather but they equally from politicians, graft, and corruption. Inadequate material substitutes, indifferent labor, mismanagement, and corrupt politicians are the most frequent causes.

The good news is this means more jobs to repair the crappy infrastructure since it's not their money. If I'm not mistaken, aren't 2 previous Illinois governors still imprisoned?

Illinois is probably worse than California in regard to progressive agendas and the state budget is way in the red. Taxes there continue to increase annually to make up their deficit which is beyond salvage.

Um...California roads are garbage. That was one of the first things I noticed when crossing into Arizona: nice smooth clean roads and nice high speed limits. #noexcuses

Head East young man, I'll show you trashed roads and mediocre speed limits. #4highinchitown
