The Random Thoughts Thread

I remember (I've lived east and north), I'm just sayin...Cali has it good, and has no excuse except mismanagement for the crap condition of their roads.

Um...California roads are garbage. That was one of the first things I noticed when crossing into Arizona: nice smooth clean roads and nice high speed limits. #noexcuses
But,but how could that be we have the best lipstick appliers, mobile phone and texters in the country

Simple: make peace with Mexico and build a canal. An inland port on the Salton Sea would pay for itself through savings and profits in less than a decade. Not to mention the benefits to LA/IE's traffic problems.

Yes, think of all BNBs, taco stands, tackle shops, liposuction clinics, rehab chains, lawn mower repair shops, lawyer offices, immigration attorneys, aluminum siding sales, auto body shops, used car lots, massage parlors/diet counselors, conversion therapy guides, travel agencies, pool stuff, life counselors, yoga instructors, vegan/animal rights activists workshops, global warming libraries, life counselor clinics, elite university study programs, immigrant legal aid bureau, crystal studies programs, alien abduction and its effects on modern life studies department that can be established on the canal banks. All taxable !

^^^^Not sure if this is still the idea...I've seen proposal's that they pump water into evaporation ponds, after the water evaporates they remove the solid particulates/salt/fertilizers from the bottom of the ponds, rinse, repeat.

The biggest issue with the Salton Sea is there is no way to flush all of the agricultural run off out of the sea, it's land locked with no drainage. The whole sea is a mistake from a broken dike in the early 1900's.

Last time I was there it smelled. I remember watching a documentary on how it formed and all of the water rights issues in CA back in the day and how LA kinda came to be because of water. It's kinda ironic that the state most supposedly concerned with the environment has millions of people living in the desert.

^^^^It's also why you don't torque lug nuts with an impact gun.

<having said that, I do it all the time when racing, use a torque wrench when I'm at home though>
