The Random Thoughts Thread

^^^^Never been to an Expo, but I suspect that the AA Rendezvous events are close to the same thing with a few thousand less people!

They found 4 climbers dead at the final camp before the summit on Everest, possible carbon monoxide poisoning from a stove in their tent.

There was also a climber that set a new record, he summited from a lower base camp in 26 hours with no fixed ropes or oxygen! He had some issues on the way down, so didn't get the round trip record. Crazy cat is thinking of taking another shot at the round trip record again this year.

There are 2 million threads debating the Terra Grappler G2 and the KO2. I've owned both. I should not be staring at this screen trying to decide...way too many random thoughts about these tires.

Between the sale and the rebates there's about a $28 total difference out the door. Leaning toward the bfg based totally on looking at pictures of both tires on tundras. None of the soccer mom's who own Sequoias have taken photos with different tire options.

Having owned both in the past the only downside to the ko2s is that to keep them wearing nice they need to be balanced every 6000 - 8000 miles or so imho.

If you are near Cumming, you should get a price from Lanier Tire on Hwy 20 - that is where I get my BFGs (they carry other brands as well). They have great prices - even beating Costco!

Thanks for the suggestion! Called them up, very friendly guys. They were cheaper than Discount Tire but Discount Tire matched their price and then added rebates on top of that and credit for my old tires. Too good of a deal to pass up.

This last Overland Expo I realized that the best part was hanging out with The AA folks(other than camping with my son for a week), and the exposition is not for me.
Don't Volunteer for expo either...just saying from my own and many other volunteers opinions on that can of worms...Hanging with the AAV crowd is the best part! IMHO, a day pass is best. Go on Saturday to see everything and get what you need, then go exploring....
