The Random Thoughts Thread

Good morning California.

^^^^No tcase, but I'd wheel it!

Working at a Cadillac dealership, I get the opportunity to drive CTS-V's every now and again. While I may not be a go faster guy any more, there's still nothing quite like 640HP under your right foot.

We put an engine in Jessie James pre-runner a couple of years ago, hot lapped the auto park a couple of times in that. No mufflers and 700HP +/- draws some unwanted attention.

Today I decided to make no important decisions so I mowed the yard for 6 hours instead. Sometimes I think my fairly good off road driving skills are due based upon the fact that I spend 10+ hours a week mowing the hilly, wooded terrain and operating heavy equipment around the sometimes steep property here and other jobs in the mountains. It does make for good practice.

Came through Atlanta at 4:30 am this morning doing my usual thing to go around the missing section of I85. Hit I75 south only to find out the entire thing had been shut down due to a chemical spill. Luckily there's not a lot of traffic at 4:30 in the morning, but the rush hour commute must have sucked!

Good thing it's not the middle of winter and snowing...

Thanks, I made that trip less than 3 weeks ago, NO SNOW, it was actually warm? Took the back road (unimproved) to Jerome, good time. You got to love the mountains!

Here's another option, slightly thicker housing. I've used these to carry tools on motorcycles before.

Saw those on ADV rider. Good for fuel bottles too. Tractor Supply was mentioned as a source but their website did not have them. I ended up on McMaster Carr and finally ended up on the welding rod canisters.

Thanks for the link because that's what I was searching for and twisted throttle was selling those for $17 + shipping as DrySpec Motorcycle Tool Tube Kits. Exact same icons on the side of opening the canister, icon guy reading a manual, closing the canister.

Just imagine what they would cost if they had a Snow Peak logo on them and were simply not called something else.

The Rampart Range opened this week. One of the access roads, Dakan Rd, has been extensively fixed. Very(relatively) smooth except for a few parts. Looks like thousands of yards of material was brought in. My daughters CRV would have not trouble at all in there now. This is(in part) a FS road so it is our tax dollars at work.

Where is that?

Down here in Colorado, Generally from the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs north to the Sedalia. It is closed during the winter, except to snow machines. The main road extends 60 miles (of graded dirt) from Garden of the Gods north to Rt 67 in Sedalia. fun, but not challenging. Lot of camping areas. The northern half has 100+ miles of Dirt bike, ATV trails.
