The Random Thoughts Thread

Is it sad, or is it brilliant. Picture, college kids and rednecks, drinking and shouting MURICA! while lifting up their watered down piss beer.

What about the black 19 year old college student in Iowa that claimed he got beat up by a bunch of white kids...after the investigation AND video of him drinking under age and inciting the fights, the local PD is NOT pressing charges against the black kid for false police report, drinking under age, assault, etc. The PD wanted to be FAIR to all involved.

That'll teach 'em a lesson!

This was interesting to read:
https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/eco-block-from-crawford-performance.360617

Its a spacer for the MAF sensor that will work for a majority of vehicles on the road. Most of the Tacoma owners that have purchased them are seeing around an average of 2 mpg bump. I would have called bs at first, but all the nay-sayers are changing their opinions. With everything I've done on the Taco, I decided that after reading WAYYYY too many pages of the thread I would give it a shot. Plus, Crawford is giving a 100% return if you don't like it.

Update: Annnnnd I get to the very end where the thread goes downhill. Maybe I should try and cancel the order.

So basically this spacer takes the air mass sensor farther from the stream to make it see less air coming into the motor. So the O2's will see less oxygen and cut back fuel, even though the engine is getting the same amount of air. So moral of the story you motor is running leaner. Hope all the people who bought this don't mind paying for premium gasoline now.

I mean it makes sense, but I highly doubt you would feel anything on the butt dyno

So.... I might have one installed on the Tacoma.... There was a member of TacomaWorld selling two, and he shot one down to me (before even telling me). Ill create a post in the General Mods section. Did a quick prelim test before, and going to work that was "interesting." Quoted on purpose.

I smell snake oil. YMMV.

I agree with Dave on the engine widget.

If the factory could simply change a mold and get dramatic performance/ fuel economy improvements they would do it in a heartbeat. Kind of like the "swirl throttle body spacers", there is no fuel air mixture until the air gets to the fuel injector. Anyone that thinks the air is going to continue in the "swirl" effect from the throttle body through the intake runners, and still have enough "swirl" to contribute to better fuel/air mixing...well, I have some land I'd like to sell you, it's just west of San Diego.

While doing some garage cleaning today I came upon my collection of old license plates that have been collecting dust for years. I decided it was time to use 'em, sell 'em or chuck 'em...I choose use.

Plates range from 1930 to the present and this pic is about a third of the wall space their decorating.

Hello..... My name is Raul and I own a minivan...

Well the wife has been begging for a mini van for a few years now... I have been hesitant because I'm a die hard ford guy a d they don't make one... Well after getting 2 more foster kids ages 3 & 5 and hearing how she was sweating her ass off in the 3rd row of the expedition trying to buckle 3 kids in car seats I decided to make a change.....

I hit up a friend of mine at Galpin Honda and after a few days settled on a 2013 Honda Odyssey. Since I was working 7 days this week I had them deliver it to my house on Friday while I was at work. A couple of days before I had told my wife I was getting a huge delivery and needed her to park on the street (which she hates and was very annoyed) and told her that she not only had to inspect it before she signed for it but also that I needed her there all day just in case. Well at about 4pm on Friday they pulled it up into the driveway, put a bow on it and knocked on the door. I asked my sales guy to record her reaction (which I won't put on here because it looked like he was recording it off of a first gen flip phone). Needless to say she was very happy and grateful. We drove it that same day to my brothers house and I must say it drives really nice. From the inside I can't tell I'm driving a mini van....

Now if only they made a lift for it :)
