The Random Thoughts Thread

Not that I watch a lot of Anime, but Ghost in the Shell which came out a long time ago, I think always highlighted brain implants that the military would want to develop. In the movie and subset series people basically have secure cell phones in their head, they can group talk or privately talk with whomever. Since the movie shows members of the Section 9 security team, it makes a lot of sense.

It seems that neural interfaces of hardware and battlefield communications is the next logical step.
 
Got some new items in the mail today. My new range leather minimalist wallet with our logo stamped on it and my new Jr's kneckr Jr to replace the last one I lost......

Stopped at the outlet stores off the 10 by Cabazon today (near Morongo) because the wife wanted to shop for work shoes.

Little did I know, but the Columbia outlet store has SMOKING deals on outdoor clothes. Anywhere from 25% to 50% off the lowest marked prices.

AND, they offer a 20% military discount on top of all the other discounts so we cleaned up. As an example, we got Savannah a new backpack for about $15, regularly $45!

Merril has an outlet store there too with good deals on trail shoes etc.

I HATE shopping, but when the deals are good it's fun. Happy wife, happy life :)

Not that I watch a lot of Anime either... but that series is one of the best I've ever seen. The entire concept was mind-blowing at the time, and still plausible today. The storyline of those with and without neural/cybernetic implants showed the conflict the two sides went through and how efficient and non-efficient each side was. Utilizing the net to bring people together and uploading your "soul" onto the net after your death... heck, forums like this are the basis of their concept. Plus they even had a tilt-rotor for their main form of transportation. Call me a nerd, but it was so good I had to buy the DVD's.

I went there about 5 years ago... wish I knew about the mil discount... I LOVE that store.... Good ol' CABAZON! I saw Alice Cooper there once T-Shirt and shorts... it was bizarre to say the least. ALWAYS have to stop at Hadleys for a date shake, too!!! FRICK!!!! I miss it out there...

Well my car shut off on the freeway on my way home from work.... It's sitting at the shop now waiting to see what is wrong..... What a week..... This past Friday both my dogs fought over a bubble and the male boxer ripped my female boxer apart.... Had to take her to three vet for surgery and 800.00 later she is fixed... But.... We had to surrender the male to a shelter because having him stay would harm our adoption of our foster child.....


Depending on how much this bill is I may have to cancel the rest of this year's trip...... Totally bummed right now.......
