The Random Thoughts Thread

Saving money by not getting the doors or top.

J30 is out, I have other plans ;)

Hmmm, I was unaware there were other options at this point. Who did you talk to at OVX when I wasn’t looking?

:rofl Yeah, we've seen your garage...

I own multiples of the same tool because I'm a patriotic American supporting capitalism and the American economy.

Or because I typically lay said tool down during a project and promptly lose it, causing me to go get the second one. Upon having the duplicate tool in hand I will promptly find the first tool. This is my system and it works for me.

This system finds my ownership of common tools increasing exponentially. For example I own 5 tape measures... I think @Twin Magnolias and I used three of them installing a box on his trailer.

Thinking about picking up one of these plates for my truck, I'm over California. If I say here I'll likely never be able to get into a home (without a sugar mama). Looking for a job transfer with my company as they have facilities around Colorado Springs. Centrally located with quick access to Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming... I could explore for years!

I'll miss the beach but I don't even go that often, I can be back in San Diego with a 2 hour flight.

I feel the winters and and altitude will take the most to get used to.

Not gonna lie, that's been my 5-year roadmap. Ideally executing before 2021 EOY. Just getting the house ready to rent out and putting in a little more time here in SB. We have offices in Denver and CO Springs so also just waiting for something to open up.

Good for you! I'd love to escape California but with a 7th generation Californian wife it's going to be very hard.

John Wayne. Hands down my favorite airport in the USA :thumbsup

And now I'm homesick... thanks

If I could afford it (and it were governed by normal human beings) I'd live in SoCal. The 8 months I spent there in 2016 were fantastic.

Now that I think of it...John Wayne is probably in my top 5. Hartsfield and JFK are, oddly, also in that list. I dislike Tampa, Las Vegas and Orlando.

Lafayette Louisiana is fun because it has two gates and if you go through security (which is a guy on a stool at the gate) with your expensive pocket knife still in your pocket, they'll go get your checked luggage and let you place it inside.

How do you dislike Tampa and like Atlanta?

That is just not normal...

Atlanta is my least favorite airport - ever.

For me it’s LAX. Followed by Dallas.

Dallas rolls up the damn sidewalks at night. Spent the night there once on orders, had a cancelled flight. No restaurants open, no stores/kiosks open. Nada. Even the USO, once I finally found it, was closed. Dallas airport SUCKS.

I've only been to Dallas when it was open. And it has some really good restaurants, too.

I used to change planes there when going between Georgia and Los Angeles. Not a fan of LAX - much prefer Burbank. Old, but small.

Agreed. I spent an eight hour layover there because of overbooked flights and I was on standby, so I couldn't leave. I had to check in with the desk every hour. I haven't lost anything in DFW that I can't get somewhere else, including a connecting flight.

ETA: ATL is kinda fun because they include a scavenger hunt in every flight. There's no fun like racing from one terminal to the next to find which gate your flight has been moved to.
