The Random Thoughts Thread

How do you dislike Tampa and like Atlanta?

That is just not normal...

Atlanta is my least favorite airport - ever.

Atlanta is the easiest (large) airport in the country to navigate, plenty to eat and with TSA precheck I haven't waited more than 10 minutes in a security line in years. (Except on holidays when they give out free TSA precheck passes like candy.)

Dallas is a toss up depending on the airport. DFW can be a pain in the ass, but the rental car center is good. Dallas Love Field is a nice enough airport but the rental car center sucks.

LAX has gotten better now that the construction they've been doing for the past 500 years is in it's last 100 year stretch, but I'll take John Wayne, Long Beach or Burbank any day of the week over LAX. Burbank also has that nice mile and a half walk from the luggage claim to the rental car center...

I've only been to Dallas when it was open. And it has some really good restaurants, too.

I used to change planes there when going between Georgia and Los Angeles. Not a fan of LAX - much prefer Burbank. Old, but small.

Dallas does have great restaurants when they’re open. That’s why it was so disappointing to be stuck there and have it ALL closed.

you have never been to Laguardia then

Or that shithole Charles De Gaulle.
Agreed. NJ - enough said. CDG - the absolute worst in bizarre French architecture resulting in a rabbit's warren of passages between gates and terminals, and complimentary introductory lessons in chaotic French driving as you try to discover an exit. Filth? I've been in cleaner airports in third world countries... and I've been to some sierra holes.

You guys have obviously never been to the Philly Airport (PHL):). Filthy. Overcrowded, Low ceilings, Smell, and Shuttle bus is nearly always required to go from gate to gate.

Oh, I forgot about Philly. It was pretty dirty when I was there.

Charles De Gaulle reminds me of a hamster habitat - looks just like those plastic things kids had for their hamsters.

Every time I went through, I caught my connection flight, but my bags never did.

And the snobbery of the employees.

Yeh, that is an accurate description...

A post in another thread reminded me of this one...

Without checking a map, which is further west, Spokane, WA, Reno, NV or Los Angeles, CA?

^^^^That will never work, the wheel/most of the tire/tread retainer straps are going to cause a HORRIBLE out of balance condition...I'd recommend some reservoir shocks to solve that concern!

Sad thing is, he will be pissed when that chunk of tread comes loose and mangles the trim, paint, and sheet metal around that tire. He’s actually received some grace already getting the chance to change it before that happens.

Bigger light bar would be far more effective IMHO

More people go to Yellowstone National Park in a day, than go to Isle Royale National Park in a year.
