NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

New here, enjoy the outdoors camping, backpacking, hiking, traveling and general off-roading. I have been in the woods since I was 3 YO, riding motorcycles since I was 10 and racing off-road SoCal desert from 1972 till 2008. I still ride and enjoy Adventure Riding on the MC. Here is my ride set up for a 4 day off road excursion.

Hi all,

I'm Brian. I've had a handful of Taco's and Jeeps over the years. Currently without a rig. I'll be changing that at the end of this year when I finally buy my first ever new vehicle. After years of buying second or third hand trucks, I've decided to treat myself (you only live once right) and spec out a new tacoma. Glad I found this site. It will be great to start compiling a wish list for the new rig.

I'm avid hiker, trail runner and rock climber... Now if I could only get the Mrs. enthusiasm for the outdoors up near my level. (Maybe it's not too bad, That way it's my escape!)

Hiya. Name is Grant, and im from south carolina, lived overseas for 10 years for USAF and Work, now im here in CT.
discovered my love for "overlanding" though we didnt know that it was called that as we were exploring the saudi desert
Got my third subaru for my new car as i needed a pretty much dedicated offroader/overland/road trip car and it fit the bill. Many plans for it that will come in the next few months before camping season gets into full swing. Currently just have some 245/65-17 AT3 tires and yakima rack with extension. Still waiting on an Anderson lift kit, king springs, primitive front bar and skid plates as well as a few other things for camping (arb awning and room, water system with pump and heater, etc etc)

Hello, my name is Garrick and I discovered this sight through Brian at GooseGear. I enjoy being outdoors in nature. I enjoy it even more when I am doing it with good people. I was at the Desert Rendezvous and enjoyed all the people there.

Howdy, my name is Rick and I live in Santa Barbara, CA. I own a 2013 Ford Raptor with a Flip-Pac. The Raptor is a great vehicle and I love it with the Flip-Pac. I have followed Dave's mods on a number of websites and have enjoyed seeing the evolution of his rig. With my Raptor I am very consciense with keeping the weight down and built-out the inside of the Flip-Pac using 1/2 " aluminum honeycone panelling from the aviation world. I really like how it turned out. When I get a chance I will upload some photos. Thanks for putting up this site.

Welcome! I'd imagine everyone would love to see some photos of your rig, especially the build-out of the flip-pac. Sounds cool.

Hello all! I just thought I would go ahead and introduce myself. I'm a recent college graduate living in Georgia. I have always loved the outdoors and I am turning into an avid paddler! I have enjoyed American Adventurist's Instagram account for a few weeks now and thought I would join the forum.

You should feel right at home here, I know there is a pretty good crowd of paddlers and it is always growing. Just be careful, rumor has it that everyone swims :snorkel

Unexpected swimming leads to a Merit Badge here on AAV...

Welcome to the Forum Cody!

Hello friends,
My name is Josh, I'm from VA, born and raised. I'm an avid outdoorsman. Looking forward to exploring the states, I'm a firm believer that there is enough beauty right here in our backyard that unfortunately not many take advantage of, I plan on doing so, just starting a build on my truck. I have an 09 Tacoma. Looking forward to the adventures ahead. Thanks to Tim B. for introducing this forum to me.

Tread on,
Josh

Hi all! Been creeping the site for a while now and decided I should probably be a member. My family and I enjoy all things outdoors and exploring the great Northwest! Mostly local trios throughout Oregon. In the process of setting up a ford 350 for trips, camping and the like to sleep 6. Any ideas are welcome

Welcome shooter! I'm going to do some exploring in your neck of the woods in a couple weeks.

In the famous words from Jaws " we need a bigger boat " . Welcome to AAV sir, we look forward to hearing about your explorations and the F350. What kind of camping are you wanting to do? Tent, camper, roof top tent, cargo trailer modified into a overland expedition vehicle? There are limitless options. Glad you're here!
