Nice 4Runner, Kyle! Looks like the 1999 4Runner Highlander?

Would love to know more about your rack and ladder!

Heyo...thx for the forum. New here...have a 1999 Dodge 2500 diesel that is slowly getting Overlanderized. I am a pretty well traveled former Marine. Also have a KTM 990 that needs to see more miles. ..don't most of the toys need that though? Working on Ham license and gear and finishing (who am I kidding...it will NEVER be finished) the truck.

Living Redondo Beach for now.

Looking forward to stealing as much info as I can from the forum...hope to see ya'll soon.

Welcome Local399!

What part of RB are you in? I work in Torrance and live in the area as well. Glad to see a local member around these parts. I'll keep an eye out for your rig.

Hey,

I'm Rick. After government sponsored travel to exotic places was put to an end I wanted to continue adventuring. My wife and I once traveled for 10 months with an F150, a 16' travel trailer, and our pup. It was the time of our lives. Now our pup is a little older, and so are we, though not by much (you can still call us, "the kids"). We have a 1999 Land Cruiser, all stock, but getting some upgrades soon. We spend our time between eastern Washington State and New Haven, Connecticut at the moment.

Hello All,
My name is Austin, just joining the site, have been camping since birth and was fortunate to grow up outdoors through scouting and family outings. Looking to pass on the tradition with my own family now. Have owned many Jeeps through the years, a few Toyotas, and a few Nissan/Datsun trucks. Currently have a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder and am shopping for my next vehicle after recently selling my FJ80. Hope to learn a lot, contribute when I can, and have fun! Located in Southern California

Welcome to AAV Austin. Keep an eye open for the upcoming mountain rendezvous (MRV). It's the bees knees.

This is great advice not only to Austin, but to all of the newer family members. Check out the DRV posts from last weekend for an idea of what you are in for

Checking in to say hello. Name is Michael and when my employer isn't paying me to travel the country I'm in my Jeep....uh.... traveling the country. Located in rural NE Georgia and looking forward to seeing what I can learn from you other well traveled folks.

Welcome Michael. Maybe you'll be able to make it North to Uwharrie, NC for the Appalachian Rendezvous in September to meet some other members, see some neat rigs, do a little driving, training, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, eating...

I'm hoping to make both that and the overland expo.

We just found this site through the American Adventurer facebook page. We are a Canadian family committed to 2 yrs (most probably more) of full time overland travel to explore the world. We started with North America in Aug 2014, and are currently in Florida, USA. We love to find off the beaten track campsites and hiking to explore the areas we are in. We began thinking we would be happy with 2 yrs, but the more we explore the more we find we want to spend more time, see more, adventure further!

Greetings,

Craig from the warm waters of Minnesota... er... well technically most of them are still solid, oh well.

I've been following the social media posts of AAv for a while now and seems to be a good fit for me. Active overlander, but I like to get out and do all sorts of outdoor activities beyond overlanding as well. Glad to join the community here.

Welcome Craig. Looking forward to hearing about your travels, whether on land or water. A trip to the boundary waters is still on my bucket list! :advhat
