NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

It's a Dodge, it sounds like a trash truck coming down the road!;)

Wecome to the forum!

Hahaha... he's got one of those newer ones... they are quiet. Mine on the other hand <what did you say, what!>

What's funny is I'd LOVE to own a 12 valve... who cares about being able to hear your passenger talk to you! :D My "build" thread is up in the proper forum. I will get some more pictures and stuff up when I can. I'm at work currently, so work filters block picasa, where my photos are stored, so getting to them is difficult.

Actually in the cab it is quiet. Outside... well that's another story. Any drive thru's I might go through, I have to shut the engine off so they can hear me. LOL

I just posted a note about going to Borrego this weekend and figured I should introduce myself. In any case, I’m Chris and I’m a campaholic, or used to be before I had kids! I know I met some of you at the Desert Rendezvous last spring… what a fun event.

I live in San Diego and I drive a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee with some moderate four-wheeling modifications and plenty of gadgets. My extended family and friends accuse me of glamping all the time, but hey, if you’ve got the room, bring creature comforts!

Camp usually consists good food, vintage white gas lanterns, ham radio, & horseshoes in the wash. (And sometimes some target shooting, depending on where we are :) )

Welcome offero!

Thanks for joining us at AAV, but more so, thanks for taking the initiative to open up your trip and invitation to other members to join you. Good on ya!

Just thought I'd say hello...

I'm an avid off-roader, amateur radio enthusiast, and gadget aficionado... I drive a heavily modded FJ Cruiser, but I'm a fan of all makes and models...

I know a few here from other forums, including Outdoor Adventure USA, and thought I'd join in the fun here, too

I make my living building and outfitting off-road vehicles, and enjoy getting out of town whenever possible...

Also wanted to invite all the ham radio operators to join in the weekly OAUSA net on the Keller repeater in So Cal - 146.385+, 146.2 PL, every Thursday at 19:30.

Welcome Larry! I am actually going to start studying to become a HAM... I'd love to join you guys on these weekly broadcasts.

Hey, great to see you over here Larry, this is Cris KJ6DZZ from OAUSA

Hi! My name is Rob, currently living in Salt Lake City. Found this site from an invite to an event on Club Frontier, wanted to check it out. More of an adventure guy than a gearhead. New to the area, looking for new ways to get lost.

Thanks for letting me participate! I have lots of questions, so I'll try not to be too annoying.

Welcome Rob and everyone who is new! This is an excellent community and I think you'll enjoy it. If you have lots of questions, post up! No question is too annoying. ;)

Cheers!

Hello All, My name is Seth, I'm from the Deep South of Texas (right on the border near Reynosa Mx). I drive a mild 94 Jeep ZJ, and am looking forward to getting involved in some good overlanding/adventuring.

Greetings all! I'm Troy and my wife is Lori and I'm recently retired from the Navy after 30 years and homeless. The wife and I have all household goods packed up in storage and will be hitting the road for the next year or two. Looking to explore the national parks and great outdoors here in the lower 48, Canada and up north to Alaska with hopes of even heading way south and visiting many of the countries in Central and South America. I have a home built benroy style teardrop and a jeep JK-8 conversion to haul it with. Currently planning on doing the overland expo in May and the desert rendezvous at the end of March. Just to get some good advice and lessons learned from other overlanders. Also interested in putting a HAM setup in my jeep and hope to learn some more about it with others for the best setup. So looking forward to the event and meeting and sharing with everyone.
