Not new to off-roading but I haven't been out since about 1999 when life got in the way. Now I am back and planning a new rig (last one was a 1980 Bronco). Grew up in the Mojave desert and cut my four-wheeling teeth in the surrounding mountains. Now I'm in the St. Louis area (hate big cities) but am willing to travel to get the open sky back over my head again. Hopefully the build will start this spring.

Hey Guys and Girls!

My name is Richard and I've got a 1989 Toyota Pickup. I got a last minute invite to the SoCal Mountain Rendezvous this year on our way to Central America from Vancouver, BC.

Check out our adventure on our blog at www.desktoglory.com

Well hell fellas, glad you put this site together. I'm intrigued by the format. I'm a PROUD American adventurist! By way of introduction.....Driving an 05" Excursion for overland duties (2013 Vermont Overland Trophy vet), 72' Bronco project in the garage. Just ordered 37" Hummer beadlocks for the Ex so will post up pics when I get it all sorted.

Welcome to AAV Roudy, where are you based out of?

Roudy is from Occupied Northern Virginia and a seasoned veteran of some of the trails around the East Coast. He's also been seen hanging with that surly crew on FaceBook known as the Mid-Atlantic Overland Society.

Most often he can be seen towing "more capable" trail vehicles like Land Rovers up hills in Vermont with his "unworthy" Ford. He hasn't quite come to terms with the size of his truck though; despite the protestations of others he manages to successfully navigate trails more appropriately sized for a Suzuki Samarai.

Welcome Rich!

LOL....hey Tim!

Here's my Ford in VT

Hello! American Adventurists!

Dan from Bothell, WA. I am the owner and Chief Overlanding Officer of Northwest Overland. We are a 1700 member strong, all makes, overlanding community in the Pacific Northwest.

Anyone looking to get involved with the group will find a culture where members are dedicated, treat each other with respect, exercise Tread Lightly principles, help each other on/off the trail, and give their personal time/effort to make Northwest Overland a better group. This is not a place to come and watch while others organize events, post in the forums, help people fix their trucks, coordinate clothing purchases, etc. A NW Overlander has made a decision to commit to regular participation and to find a way to get involved regardless of skill level. The reward is that all members quickly make lasting friendships with people of solid character and everyone benefits from the increased activity. Nobody cares how setup your truck is, how much mechanical experience you have, or how much offroad driving experience you have. The commitment is to learn, grow, participate, and give back to the group.

I personally have been involved with adventure travel since I was a kid. Now, 15 Land Rovers, 1 Isuzu Trooper, 1 Jeep and a 1972 K5 Chevy Blazer later, I am running a show in my neck of the woods. My attraction to American Adventurist is purely organic. Good peopl, doing great things out of love for adventuring.

Hope to see you all out on the trail soon!

Dan

Hi all,

I've met a few of you at the meet and greets in Va. Thought it was about time I came on here and joined the fun.

My current drive is an old 95 Tacoma Xcab with skids, OME suspension, winch and general other things for having fun.
