The problem with the abundance of choice is my ignorance on the topic.

Most (I hesitate to say all but I think it's all, check yours) of the Coleman appliances have a built in pressure regulator and can be used off a propane tree. Be sure your Camp Chef stove still has one of those pancake style regulators if you use a tree. I had a custom hose made and didn't get the regulator installed on it, thinking with 3-4 appliances it would be okay.

I opened the the valve and the stove creaked like a submarine diving too deep (in the movies). With my wife watching, I played it off as my kids built a pretend fire about 30 feet away. I lit a lighter and held it near a burner and turned the knob for that burner. BOOM! Flames shot 15 feet in the air nearly catching a tree on fire! I reached down to turn the knob to turn the burner off and flames were shooting out of it about a foot. I calmly turned the knob on the 20# tank and the flames died down and went out. I remained amazingly calm during the entire event. We cooked on the fire that trip.

When I got home, I looked up the pressure of a full tank and the psi of the typical pressure regulator on a bbq. A full tank could be as high as 220 psi and the regulators typically reduce it to 0.5 psi or lower. The Camp Chef stove withstood a pressure of 400-450 times what it was designed to take. It worked fine from that day on (after I had the regulator put into the custom hose. I finally gave it away to a friend because it was just too big and bulky. I'll never forget that first day of trying to use the stove and neither will my wife. The kids never saw a thing.

Anyone else on 2 wheels interested in a Saturday ride? Lots of fun options for red & green sticker bikes (Superstition, Plaster City, Ocotillo Wells) and even more for Dual Sports (Fish Creek to Diablo Dropoff, Pinyon, Blowsand Canyon/Goat Trail, etc). I'm happy to throw out ideas as I know the area pretty well, just need to know the plate status, fuel range, and rough ability/comfort level of those interested.

Well, I misremembered/overestimated the size of my targets (there's a joke in there, somewhere). They're actually 12", not 18". I'll still bring them, regardless.

That works.

We do not have the Volunteer Examiners amongst our ranks, and the last time it was handled by Outdoor Adventure USA, but none of them are on the list. I recall their team showed up at the Bradshaw trail location in a Ford Crown Victoria. Not recommended for this location.

If you know VE's that are willing and able to make it, I'm sure you're not the only one who would want to test.

I am leaning towards bringing a plated bike this year. Anyone else?

ok I just realized that we are traveling to the Republic of California...
Sunday????

So what pew pew pew pew items can I bring.....
Pistols must have 10 rounds or less or am I missing anything?
Rifles AR15/AK limited to 10 rounds but do I have to have magazine locks or some other crazy items?
does this apply to other calibers like .22 and .308 ??

Sorry asking from the free state of AZ

Yes, 10 round mags for everything. Bullet buttons for your AR/AK. The AR bullet button can be installed and removed in 5 minutes or less. Not sure about the AK.

There are exceptions but I wouldn't concern myself with them. Just stick to the above guidelines and you should be okay... Oh, look up on the list vs. off the list AWs. If it's on the list leave it in the free state. A good resource is Calguns.

Thanks FJRanger, those flow charts on Calguns really helped.. basically everything is banned...

it would have been easier if they just made an index card of what can be possessed in Cali
