The Star Wars Thread

Hopefully the First Order can pick up where the Empire unfortunately fell short...

"Mexican, girl, black, white elderly people. Where's the Chinaman?"

"In China making the Star wars toys."

Where ARE the asians anyways? This is racist. I'm extremely offended, like how Darth Vader is Black. Boycott Star Wars.

This is not really a SPOILER, but read at your own risk.

Good but not great, certainly better than episode 1-3 and better than I expected. There are certainly moments that it feels like a Disney owned franchise

Just got out of the 7pm showing tonight.

Sorry BlkWgn.....gonna have to disagree. It was awesome, sprinkled with rad and drenched in baddassery.

Yeah a bit of a few Disney moments, but they did it right.

Still no Empire, but for sure up there.

And slight spoiler.....there is no Suck Jar Binks or even a charecter that comes close.

See it already people.....I want to have a serious discussion about some plot points.

My only real complaint is the music. Not as good as Empire, or in fact episodes 4 through 6. Mr. Williams was a bit off on this one.

I saw it last night as well. I got to say I am not blown away as I was expecting to be. I really thought it would be better than it was. Yes, they were some aspects that were really great. However the story itself just didn't flow right. Overall I'm still in for the next ones.

Saw it last night in a half-empty theater. If I were to give it a grade, I'd say a solid A-. Some of the plot elements were predictable. Lots of loose ends to build off of in the next few episodes (as well as the spin offs). I think they split the difference pretty well between the cheekiness of Ep1 and the seriousness of the OG-Trilogy. Yes it's Disney, but didn't feel as Disney as I feared.

All that said, it met my expectations. Solid special f/x. Mediocre acting. A few plot holes you could park a Star Destroyer in. A fair amount of suspense. All in all a great popcorn flick.

Gah now I want to go watch it so I can talk about it. I think I'm going to have to avoid this thread now until I go see it.

Going on hiatus in..... Now.

Listen up Rebel scum... If any of you nerd herders drop any spoilers YOU WILL BE BANNED!

OK, maybe not banned but possibly frozen in carbonite until the rest of us get to see this.

Do you mean stuck up, half witted, scruffy looking nerf herders? You're showing your true feelings there for them, AND I agree, ban hammer for those that spoil. :rollingpin

A former co-worker bought out a showing, which had roughly 300 people in it, all law enforcement with their families. If there was a time in which one of those nutjobs wanted to shoot up a theater tonight would have been a real crazy mess. Anyways I really enjoyed it. Yes some things were predictable, yes a lot of A New Hope was re-hashed, yes they played to our love of certain cherished characters, but I don't care I loved it!

My 4 year old and 5 year old LOVED it. I shot this during the previews. A surprisingly difficult shot to take, backlit, handheld, no lighting, even though it's noisy I like it.
