The new Silverado/Sierra trucks really look good. Not my trucks though.
lesson learned; pay attention to what the hay your doing. So much for my steak. (See below)
Oh neat! A spear head from the Cretaceous Period - what a find.

Freaking awesome! I can't stop laughing.... Ouch.Apparently we are nearly as manly as men in the 50's were! Apparently fighting off otters while using one as a weapon was quite commonplace. Or so these magazines lead you to think it was... Also scaring women with big hairy spiders was cool back then too...

I'm pretty sure the first one, upper left, is the story about Jim and Beth's first camping trip... that was a couple years ago, before the kids.
Well, we picked up a new daily driver for the wife. Went on up to North County Buick Cadillac GMC in Escondido to look at a GMC Acadia but came home with this instead. Seats 8 and has tons of room inside. With another child on the way, I think this'll suite us just fine.

2011 Ice Blue Chevrolet Tahoe, Vortec 5.3L V8 SPI Flex Fuel Iron Block
We were just there last weekend, and there were folks maintaining it. Repainting sections that have faded or cracked. So it will probably live on for awhile.A sad day in SoCal. Leonard Knight, the man that built Salvation Mountain as a testament to his Faith, died. Machelle and I had the pleasure of meeting Leonard and having some long talks with him (he was a talker, would talk to anyone).
If you have not taken the time to see Salvation Mountain do it soon. I suspect it will eventually be condemned by the state as it falls into disrepair.

Bummed for Tim August and his crew from Tierra del Sol 4x4 club. They spend their whole year planning for the TDS Desert Safari, and it's supposed to rain on their parade this weekend. We haven't had significant rain fall all winter and really need it, just a shame it has to be on "their" weekend. I've been to the Safari in the rain in the past. Still a great event, just a little cold and soggy.
