The Random Thoughts Thread

Oh hell NO! Another adventure traveler shopping at WalMart? :) That is just totally unsatisfactory, haven't you heard that WalMart is the scourge of the earth, responsible for everything that isn't still being blamed on George Bush! ...unless you're looking for new electronics, random RV/towing accessories, over the counter drugs, a new pair of pants in a hurry because you just busted the crotch out of your double throw me down made in the USA from foreign materials custom hiking pants...then, and only then, is shopping at Walmart acceptable. I guess we'll give you the electronics waiver!

Baja Fever is setting in hard...36 hours give or take and I'll be turning the tables on them. I'll be an illegal gringo working in Mexico! It's a tough gig, but somebody has to do it.

If I shop at a WalMart in Baja am I still wrong?

Ten more posts and then I can start selling stuff that needs to be gone before it gets covered with snow. Here's a teaser...

Leaves not included because they've moved on. I'm expecting another delivery soon though.

You still have that LJ Kargo Master Rack Graham? I would have though somebody would have snatched that up by now.

Yup. It seems that nobody around here drives an LJ anymore. Fortunately I think that's the last piece I have left. Everything else went in the spring and paid for a bunch of moto farkles.

Nine and counting!

Talking about motorcycling, my better half recently described me as looking like Robocop by the time I've got all my gear on. (Including heated jacket and gloves for this balmy 25F weather.)

Robocop. I think I can live with that. No gun though.

I'm thinking real hard about selling the Mouser. I think I'm at a safe enough emotional state to let him go. If I do I won't have to borrow a single dollar to finish putting Allison through school and I will have one less vehicle to insure, register and maintain. And with the vehicle count now at 5 and Cam needing a ride in a year or so, its probably the best thing to do.

Certainly can't fault your arguments for avoiding college debts!

In the grand scheme of things I'm glad I got rid of the Jeep which I'd completely lost trust in. The Subaru Forester replacement is quiet and comfy and comparatively frugal and works well on poor condition forest roads in NH and Maine for kayaking. Debbie's Ford Focus is rusting its way apart so it'll need to be replaced in the next few years. At that point I'll have worked out if we (I) need (want) something with more ground clearance. Random Thought of the day......

"Measure wealth not by the things you have, but by the things you have for which you would not take money"

......Priceless

I can't get use to these new cop cars. After many years of developing an eye for spotting Crown Vics, these new police cars just look odd. The Charger just looks like a Matchbox car somebody stuck stickers on and the Taurus Interceptor looks like something out of bad RoboCop remake. Worst yet the PA State Police here in the snowbelt region of the state have whole heartly adopted the new Explorer as their go to vehicle; they are all over the place here.

I read something a few weeks ago saying the Exploder was the new choice for police cars.

We're building tons of Caprices, Chargers and Taurus cars. About as many Explorers as Taurus.

Ventura is going with a whole fleet of Tahoes.

The State police in MA have all but gone over to the new explorer, the troopers i know say it sucks, slow as heck and looks like a minivan w a light bar on it.

Yup, I heard the California Highway Patrol says the Explorer won't pursue up grades very well.

I have to surmise the person running Ford right now is a complete idiot. After changing the car most cops liked to something most cops hate, discontinuing the Econoline series (think of All of the Cable Companies vans, prisoner transport vans, airport shuttles, mormon family vacations), it just doesn't seem like he has Fords best interest in mind!

Shhh!, you're going cause my Ford stock to plummet with talk like that.

Another pile of political crap from the Obummer administration...apologizing to the Indian government because one of their citizens broke our visa/employment laws and was subjected to the same treatment when arrested, just as a US citizen would have been subjected to, when being booked into jail, strip search, etc.

I'm so sick of our government bowing down to the whims of other governments. If their citizens don't like the way we do things here, LEAVE! When I go to Mexico, or any other foreign country I wouldn't get any special treatment just because I have a US passport (probably get a little worse treatment if anything).

+1

Go to work in India. Break the law. See what happens.

No one will apologize except you... :coffee

In Soviet Russia you get strip searched and raped on bus to jail.
