More exciting mods….
Over on @Greg ’s Tacoma thread…not so much here.
After work today I got started getting the truck ready for the trip west.
I also mounted up an old Warn winch lanyard to help pull up the tailgate from inside the bed if we choose to enter the GFC from the inside.
This week we received the CVT Mount Hood RTT replacement ladder to use for outside entry into the not quite ours yet camper. It came with mounting attachment brackets which slide right into the outside extrusion
This set up is a popular alternative to the GFC ladder. The GFC ladder for the V2 is almost double the price of the CVT and has a kinda over engineered attachment. Also the CVT is black so that’s cool, for a ladder.
Now to figure out the gear load out in a minimal manner that we need to be comfortable for the trip but allow us to not have to move a ton of crap in and out of the truck for the install. This should actually help us decide what is important as Michelle and I envision this new camping arrangement as the vehicular equivalent of an ultralight backpack.

Should be a great trip though the extended forecast is looking darn cold at night out that away. The misses doesn’t like camping in the cold…
