hello all...joey here in southeast texas. I built this little camper on my truck about 5 years ago and have been around the country in it a couple of times. I work construction, and have had the opportunity to take jobs in interesting places every so often lending to further exploration and discovery, the most recent being in ketchum, Idaho. the truck is not 4wd, but I brought a couple of dual sport motorcycles with me on a small trailer during this most recent trip in order to get to places the truck cannot go. For my next trip I would like to mount my bike directly on the truck...probably on the front because I didn't care much for pulling a trailer around with me everywhere. eventually I plan on getting a better truck with 4wd, and build another camper on it, but for now this one is still doing the job. I'm finally back home now, but I have tools, and will travel! View attachment 27064
Fantastic camper build!

Hey all. I just found this forum today. Seems to have a pretty good 'vibe' to it. I just got into the overland lifestyle this year. I was mostly into exploring in my Jeep and more on the lines of rock crawling. So now I'm shifting gears. I'm planning to get a new truck and build a trailer this year, and next year in July-August I'm planning a 6,000+ mile trip from Mex to Canada and back again along the Continental Divide route. I'm hoping this will end up being a cool forum to hang out in.

I come from a rock crawling background as well. I think you'll find some good folks here with lot's of good information for you. Any chance you are going to KoH this year?

Home right now is Afghanistan, but I live in Yuma, AZ. I used to live in Apple Valley, CA (parents still do) so I've been to KoH a few times it was only a short ways from there. I wasn't planning on going but since you mentioned it I checked the dates. I get home on leave (going to visit my parents and pick up my dog in Apple Valley) the first day it starts so I will probably head out there that week. Don't know what day yet but I'm a semi-serious photographer and have some new gear waiting for me so it will be a good chance to test it out.

Psunami, nice rig... you have PM ;) I'm in Eddy just south of Waco. Welcome to the board hope to see you out and about!

Hello All, I found this site by first being amazed at over land vehicles seen on Gizmag (now called New Atlas) and dreaming about great adventures. That led me to the OverlandExpo site which led to this forum. Lurking for a few months I gained much insight into recovery techniques and have started to gather proper equipment. My current passion is my BMW K1600 GTL which I am doing some maintenance on, after market shocks, valve check, etc. My 4x is a 2004 Silverado which I hope to replace soon with a 4x Sprinter in order to camp/carry bike. I plan on making Asheville

Hola everyone,

I have been a member of this forum for several months and have been learning from this great community since day one so thanks!

I have been a fan of the outdoors for a couple of years now and have made the progression from

2 seater convertible

to 1 honda element,
attachment.php

then another element
attachment.php

and most recently to a brand spanking used sprinter van and I'm loving every moment so far!

I originally switched from an ant to a honda box because I wanted to do lots of outdoors activities, haul bikes around, develop my nutrition business and eventually get a dog :) (all of which have happened since)

I hope to continue to learn from all the creative DIY'ers here and contribute some ideas of my own.

This isn't my first automotive community but from what I've read it seems to be the most helpful bunch around.

Allow myself to introduce 'Ginny aka: #socalsprinter

2006 dodge sprinter van that lived it's first years delivering loose leaf tea and is slowing being transformed into a fully self sustained camper/dog hauler/moto bike hauler/adventure rig/daily driver.

I look forward to putting some faces to some names at the desert rendezvous 2017.
