NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Hey, I'm Austin. I am an Overlanding USA team member. I've been a member of this forum for maybe a year or so but am just now trying to get more involved. Looking forward to getting out on trail runs and trips! Here's a little bit about me:

Based out of Orange County
Always loved the outdoors. My wife and I purchased our 2015 TRD off-road tacoma in Feb 2015 and that's when it all started. I was finally able to rely on myself instead of others for trips and camping etc. I never knew it would become more of a lifestyle than a hobby. It's amazing how wonderful the overland community is and it's been great getting to know others with the same passion.

Here are some pics of our rig. Slowly working to build it up to where we want. Focus is primarily necessity and function for our build.

Hi, I'm new to the group. I am an amateur adventurist still finding my way. I have been seeking outdoor adventure for as long as I can remember. I've done mountain bike camping for a few years but that's hard with a dog and I'm kinda fat (part of the adventure). I tried to get into backpacking but it's too slow for me and coming off a bike it was just not appealing. I got into kayak camping 6 years ago witch I'm still growing with but again, taking my dog is not practical and finding others with my interests is a slow process. I still plan two 3day trips a year but that's not even scratching the surface of my needs. I bought a Suzuki samurai and built it into a sweet and very capable camping and exploring rig. I used it every weekend. Never went too far with it but far enough to get out of my head. The dog loved it and it broke down at the end of every trip. I'd spend all week fixing it Just to get back out by Friday. Winter trips where great with it. Crappy heat, bikini top and it only did about 45mph on the road. It became too much work and repairs so I sold it to buy my land cruiser. I loved the zook and it really opened my eyes to what I need in my life. The land cruiser looks stock but I've been upgrading it for 2 years while still using it so that it suites my needs. January it gets its 2nd OME suspension system. It's winter so I only have 2 solo trips planned both locally and I've done a ton of expensive maintenance this winter so I have no excuse. It would be ideal to join others in adventures in overlanding, but I haven't had much luck with that. Hopefully this forum will open more leads to great adventures for me. Im located in central pennsylvania and I can be followed on my instagram @landcruiserlife696

Greetings to all! I've been an Instagram follower for a while now. Joining the forum to learn more about the rendezvous and meetups with fellow adventurers. My best bud @MtnDewd and I live north of Denver and we want to make 2017 our year for epic adventures. He's getting the T4R geared up and I've got a Nissan Frontier Pro 4x (manual!!!) and we are gonna have some fun. Hope to meet some new friends and get ideas and inspiration for exploring and adventuring together.

Awesome! Welcome to AAV. If you are planning to attend any Rendezvous events be sure to stay engaged on the forum and RSVP early. The spaces can fill up quickly. When you get a chance, start a thread about your truck. It will be nice to see some more Nissan representation.

Hello, Been following the AA via facebook for awhile and figured with my new set-up I'd add a new forum as well. I recently sold my JK Rubicon that I vowed never to sell and bought my dream truck. I cracked and bought a 2014 Ram Power wagon. Starting over with a blank slate but looking forward to finally being able to fit everyone in the family in the rig with all our stuff.

Hello, I'm Dave and I'm an outdooraholic.

Grew up in SoCal. My parents took my brother and I camping quite a bit starting in the 1970's. In the 90's I was frequenting the Imperial Sand Dunes (mostly Gordon's Well) where I started with a 3 wheeler then moved on to a 4 wheeler (Honda 250R). In 2000 I moved to TX. A few years ago I picked up the Suzuki dual sport motorcycle and have taken it to ride Big Bend National Park a couple of times.

Recently started getting interested in "overland" type stuff. In June I traded in my 07 Silverado 1500 2wd for the 2500 4wd. My wife and I have plans to eventually get a travel trailer but for now stuck on tent camping if anything. I do plan to build a camper to fit on my 14' utility trailer, that undertaking is in preliminary planning stages. If all goes well it'll be about 10' long and removable so the trailer can still be used to haul stuff. That trailer was last used to help a friend move and in 2015 it took 3 motorcycles and gear out to Big Bend. It sits in our yard most of the time, want to put it to use more.

This site seems like a great resource. I'll be around. The pictured truck is my 07 Chevy on Pikes Peak. A friend and I went there for the hill climb in June 2016.

Hi all!! My name is Travis, I've been an outdoors person all my life whether it be camping in scouts or out messing around our 200 acre farm. I had a jeep wj I was using to get my outdoor fix but due to some major breakdowns I decided to let her go so unfortunately for me I'm stuck with my 2wd F150 to pull my M116A2 camping trailer I've built. Even though I'm stuck in a 2wd F150 I don't let it stop me from getting out a couple times a month and going to new places it's just now I've got to do more planing and only go to gravel roads I can get down but hopefully by end of summer I'll be sitting in a 5 gen 4Runner
Until then I figured I would join up and look and learn and maybe join in on some easy to get to camping who knows

Here is a picture of my M116A2
