NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

Did the 82 y/old do rim to rim in 1 day? Quite a feat.
Good morrow all,

My name is Chris, I am Falkon over on ExPo. I grew up with a deep love of the woods, although I got distracted in my teens and 20's and I did not realize it until I was older somehow. I have 6 yo and 2 yo sons and we live in Milton, north of Atlanta.

I like to get them out, whether it be fishing, camping, exploring, canoeing, Geocaching, hiking, backpacking, etc. I want to give them the canvas to paint their own love of the outdoors.

Anyways, figured I'd give an official Howdy to the group, looks like it will be a good one.

Thank you Haggis and Dave.

We actually did a 4 day rim to rim. 7-8 miles per day tent camping at night. We met a family with a 12 yo girl and 10 yo boy doing it in a day. That's quite a challenge and a feat, but you're also missing alot along the way.

The 4 day using the camps along the way from North Kaibab to the Bright Angel trail is perfect and allows you time to explore and see areas like Ribbon Falls. It should be a bucket list for everyone who is so disposed as to use one.

Yeah I did it in a day. It was painful.

Name is Mike. I've been into backpacking, hiking, climbing, kayaking and mountain biking a number of years. After getting married I combined my passion and love for automobiles, my wifes love for offroading and our dual love for nature with overlanding. We chose to modify her vehicle and we're having a blast doing it.

Welcome! Hope to see more details about that build in the Garage Section! :)

Edit: I see you've already started on it! Nice job!

Thanks guys. I'll post more shortly, I need to update it across several sites, a lot of recent additions and we just returned from a trip up in the GWNF in VA. I'll also have to share a trip report or two and share some details on an upcoming trip out West again.

Hey Mike, Glad to see you made it over here!

My name is Nick, most know me as the former LakeErieYJ and my wife RestlessTraveler. I havn't been around in quite a while as things got very busy. Got married in August and found out we are expecting our first child in October, the wife is due July 10th.

Which lead me to have to sell a few things.....

Said good-bye to the Big Jeep in order to downsize.

The new hottness.... or not.

picked this up for the wife and recently picked up a 98 Explorer 5.0L AWD for myself that will soon be on 33's and ready to get out and explore after the baby is ready!

Its good to see the ARSES are still alive and i'm happy i stumbled across the new home and look forward to being a little more active!
