Since we are only a few days out and I am working extra to have the days off, this will most likely be the last update from me before Rendezvous.
- We are adding an additional trail run on Sat, this will be more of a scenic tour up Clark's grade which is technically a black diamond trail but is do to 1 rutted turn and is passable by just about any high clearance 4wd. This will be led by Rory from Trigger Controller. There will not be a sign up for this as we are working out the details and route so just keep an eye out for it Sat morning and feel free to ask for more details at check-in.
- Like every update, I am going to remind you to read post 1 and to print your hold harmless.
- In post 1 you will find directions to camp, DO NOT ENTER THE CAMP DIRECTLY FROM HWY 38. Every year there are a few people that can't seem to follow the directions. Not only will this make the ranger angry, but we will mock you, repeatedly, forever.
- We are under a fire ban, this does not look like it will change in the next few days so plan accordingly. We will have a propane firepit at the main stage for the community, if you have a propane tank that you would like to bring along to supplement this, it would be appreciated. You can also use your own propane pits at the existing fire rings located throughout camp.
- Dogs are supposed to be on a leash, we have never enforced this too strictly, and I hope to not have to police this. We are all adults, let's be responsible and keep our dogs under control
- Exact change for check-in is greatly appreciated for both speed and simplicity.
- The gate will open at noon on Thursday, please don't try and sneak in early. If you arrive before noon there is a large turnout across the street from the gate where you can wait.
- campsites are first-come, first-serve We understand wanting to save a spot for your buddy and that is cool, but please don't block off large portions of camp to save sites for everybody you know. This is a community event and one of the best ways to meet people is to camp next to someone new.
- Pack it in Pack it out - There are cans around camp for ash/coals, there is no trash service, leave camp better than we found it and don't fill the ashcans so we don't have to empty and haul away your trash.
- Even if you are not competing in the Camp Cooking Competition, you are still invited to participate in the potluck dinner. This is always a highlight of any rendezvous event.
