2018 Taco TRD Offroad

That’s lots of room to work with. What is your plan for accessibility within the canopy? Side storage and middle drawers? Bedslide? Truck monkey? Lithe, spry young girlfriend?

Step ladder for now. Without leaning in too much. From the driver side, I placed my wallet so my fingers cover it. From the passenger side this is my reach. Anything larger than a shoebox with a decent handle should be grabable from at least one side.

This is next. Looking forward to taking the drill out to put holes in the canopy.

Without measuring. The door seals look like they sit low enough to clear the lock nuts.Going to measure out everything this weekend.

Yellow highlights are on the marks made by the door seal.

I found that while the ceiling has plenty of strut channel where a channel nut can be used to create mounting points.

Below that there's only six mounting points. Four in each lower corner and two in the upper rear corners.

What I want to do is be able to divide up the area into sections and secure/unsecure those sections individually and be flexible with the size of each section.

Next on the agenda is a mounting the Solo to the canopy roof rack.

I got aluminum C channel that I plan to cut the same width as the RTT and sandwich the mesh between the channel and the tent. Contemplating going with wider C channel and using two bolts per end rather than just one.

Odyssey battery has a bad cell. Took it out of the vehicle this morning and charged it up to full. After it was fully charged I took it off the charger and monitored the voltage every hour or so. It's slowly dropping about a 10th of a volt every hour or so.

I kept reading that you could not use the Noco repair feature on an AGM battery. With the batteries resting voltage sitting at around 5.3 volts after bringing the battery inside and being on the charger for 24 hours and a 24-hour rest after. I figured, what the hell.

After two 4-hour repair cycles the resting voltage is back up to 12.5 @ 70°F. It should be 12.8 according to the manual. What do you think? Am I pressing my luck by running it through more repair cycles or is it not even a concern?

Interesting for sure, that's quite a difference already. I'd keep going in the name of science :lol

This was fun. The Norweld roof racks sit really close to the body of the canopy. Tight enough that you can't get a hand underneath.

To fasten the TerraPod to the rack we had to
  1. Detach the rack from the canopy
  2. Jack it up
  3. Jack up the TerraPod.
  4. Slide the bolts into position
  5. Drop the TerraPod
  6. Secure the TerraPod with the brackets
  7. Drop the rack
  8. Secure the rack
These things are the best.
