Not home yet, but this was a true shakedown trip! Was able to limp off trail sans one rear shock, I'm assuming I lost the bolt on the washboard somewhere! Oddly, I'd just checked those last month, but there you go.

The Napa in Indio had the bolt I needed to put it back on. Thanks to everyone who spotted it dragging or offered assistance!

Currently eating Chile Verde and rehydrating in Indio, and will blast back to SD next.

What a weekend!

Hey Herbie:

I'm glad you were able to make it out! I am assuming that you were the one Kris and I found lying under your van on our way to our morning constitutional.

We too have made it home and are squeaky clean. Twas our first one. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and great eats! Looking forward to the relatively dustless mountain rendezvous.

Hahahaha.... if you don't have your fill of dust... you're not really camping! Glad you guys had a great time.

We had a blast!

We had a great time! I gotta get out there on Friday next year.

On our way out we ran into a BLM ranger, asking if anyone was still out there. Did anyone else chat with him?

Kris and I had a blast and we are especially proud of the fact that we were able to identify and solve all of the world's problems with our many new friends around the campfire.

Thanks for letting us crash your campfire and stir up your blood a bit :)

Ranger in a White Power Wagon came by, think he asked for the permit, chatted for a while. I checked out his truck looking at radio mounting options for my rig. Seemed like a pretty nice guy. I noticed he has a DRV and AAV sticker when he left

Yep, that was the local BLM LEO for the Meccacopias, Officer Cortizar. Nice guy, showed him our permit and talked about local challenges and such. He was very impressed by our group and we hooked him up with some AAV and DRV swag.

We're all on the same team :thumbsup

It was good to talk to you at the raffle bro. I played around and checked out your decked system while you were out of camp, and it was sweet. I really want them to make one for 8 foot beds!

And this was post ARB awning durability testing when the whole dang thing lifted off and flipped 180 degree up over the shell (prior to the tie-downs being affixed)! And in the photos it looks brand new!

Had a phenomenal time with this group out there this weekend! It was a section of the desert that I've never been to, and I was definitely in for a treat!

A big thank you to all the people who cooked some seriously delicious food for us! I've only used a dutch oven to make baked goods in a campsite, but this was somethin' else!

Also a huge thanks to Dave and the rest of the American Adventurist crew for doing an outstanding job with organizing the event. I think I speak for everybody when I say the time and effort you put into planning and run the event made for a very successful and incredibly fun weekend. Thanks again for letting us be a part of it!

And lastly, I took many photos and some videos on our trail rides Saturday, and I got home from the trip last night with an itch to put them all together. I'm sorry I didn't get more of the campsites and some of the awesome rigs that didn't make it out on the trails with us, but I noticed them all! We had a great day exploring the desert, and learning about it's history...all the while, grabbing whatever trash we could along the way.

Small video...my DSLR got dust in so I couldn't take any decent photo or videos. All with a cell phone.
