I made fried chicken using potato flour. It was awesome!

Talking about toilets; I just realized my M416 is like My Own Personal Sherpa...
What's that Depeche Mode song....?

You shouldn't complain because we could start a Campaign to get some Champagne from Champaign and head to Lake Champlain where we can have it with Alligator.--Welcome to my Sunday night Garmin/InReach map loading down time....

I'm sure you've educated yourself on Panko by now but they are commonly used in Japanese cooking, typically Tempura batters. I've found them to be a coarser, crunchier variation on typical US bread crumb products. Substituting Panko for typical breadcrumbs often results in a much more pleasing to the tooth "crunch", especially in baked items simulating a fried food texture.

Crappy way to make a living...

"A pile of dinosaur dung 130 million years old sold at a New York auction for nearly $1,000. The prehistoric deposit fetched $960 at Wednesday's auction, said a spokeswoman for Bonhams New York. Its pre-auction estimate was $450. The fossilized dung is from the Jurassic era, the auction house said.

Speaking of Stars, I was just cleaning out an old storage bin and found two of my airbrushed shirts I made 15+ years ago.
If and when AAV decides to have a Mars Rendezvous, I'll make the shirts...because I am the Yellow Solar Warrior. Yep, I was a hippy. Dang pesky things now......

So, I'm a high school teacher, and Friday marks the beginning of Spring Break (hallelujah!). While doing the whole polite small talk before a faculty meeting, a co-worker asked what I was doing with my break. I told him I was going to wander aimlessly over Northeast Ga with my 2yo daughter, do a 4wd class at Uwharrie, and camp some while I'm over that way in NC.

He, a grown man, looked at me and said he'd never been camping before. I think he broke something in my brain. Can you imagine a childhood, teenage years, or adulthood without camping? I don't think I've ever been so happy for a faculty meeting to start.

At my last job we took one of my apprentices out to the desert with us for the weekend. The first night we were there he leaned back in his chair looked up at the sky and said WHOA!. I looked up, didn't see anything except the stars, asked him what he was looking at...he responded "The STARS", I've never seen that many. After some more talking, I found out that he was 22 years old, never been out of the San Diego metro area in his whole life!

I've only been west of the Mississippi once, but I recall being awestruck at the night sky while staying in some cabins a couple hours outside of Billings, Montana. We've got a couple of good places here in Ga to catch a good view of the stars, but nothing like I remember that night sky being.
