The Random Thoughts Thread

The problem with using alcohol to provide analgesia to children whose teeth are emerging is in it's application, a frequently misunderstood process. Thankfully for you I'm a medical professional with over 36 years of experience.

  • First, pour approximately a single ounce of your preferred alcohol.
  • Next, take the alcohol shot orally, without swallowing the "medication."
  • Insert your index finger into your mouth without loosing the alcohol - pursed lips!
  • Withdraw your finger and apply the alcohol residue remaining on your index finger onto the infant's gums while gently massaging them.
  • Now, swallow the remaining alcohol in your mouth.
  • Repeat as necessary.

You're welcome Mike.

This sounds like a famous brandied carrot recipe

Was getting ready to buy a roof rack for the LX470, then the dryer took a crap on me. When the hell did a washer and dryer set end up costing $2k? o_O

So I'm sitting up in the loft of our log home this afternoon just enjoying a lazy day. Out of the corner of my eye I catch movement outside the big bay window and turn to see a mature bald eagle land in the big cherry tree at the edge of my yard. As I gaze at it in surprise I swear that eagle looked right back and then spread its wings to their full span. We looked at each other for the briefest of moments and then he gave me a nod and sailed off down the creek. I think it was a moment of respect between two alpha predators.

That bay window looking out of my loft has been a looking glass to many wonders... We've witnessed fishers, bears, huge bucks, cute little fawns, ospreys, coyotes, beavers, wood ducks and just once one of the elusive otters that have been reintroduced to the area. I am forever grateful to have been able to build a home that offers sights many have to travel hours to see.

Random thought.... rain sucks! Went to take Danny down to the river to skip rocks and ride our bikes. But nooo the rain has caused the river to go from 32' to 48' and flooding the only road in to our favorite spot.

It's supposed to rain for 7 days straight where I live in So Cal (maybe some snow also). We didn't have 7 days of rain all last year I don't think.
