State Velcro Patches

I do patches as well as have a black/white vinyl sticker on the back window of my Jeep that is the shape of the country. Whenever we go to a state we've never been to before, I add a colored sticker over that state. I'll try to get a picture of that sometime.

I checked at three different shops while at Grand Canyon, and left empty handed. I'll keep checking at the next parks though.

I realize you posted you couldn't find a Grand Canyon patch a l-o-n-g time ago, but wanted to mention that you can get National Park patches from the National Park Services website. They have a store with all sorts of patches from many, if not all, of the national parks.

Now, what I REALLY want are patches from all of the state parks I've been to! I don't know if other states have them, but they don't here in PA. One of my personal goals is to visit all 121 state parks in our state.

I did end up finding the patch, but I think I had to get it online.

Glad you found one. We've had to get a patch or two online a few times because we've gone somewhere that didn't have a park office or visitor's center. We went to the Flight 93 Memorial a few years ago and just the Memorial was there. Now, they've opened the visitor's center. While we do plan to go back (possibly in November when we are nearby), I wanted the patch now, so I ordered one.

When we did our grand Canyon trip back in may, they had patches at the grand canyon association on site store for the park when we entered the grand canyon. I did have to add my own velcro strips to the back so it would adhere to the headliner but it's been working great since may..

My headliner is too smooth for Velcro patches, so I just use a small dot of hot glue on each of the corners of the patch.

Thanks for the Eparks link folks, just started getting some patches from the places we've been over the years...

Still got some more to find.

I finally got velcro sewn onto the backs of the patches that needed it tonight. I got the velcro from a local fabric store. The velcro was a "by the yard" cut...I just got a 1 yard length for now. At 2" wide (with no adhesive on it's back...I was afraid it would get gummy and fall apart during our hot summers), it wasn't quite wide enough for the patches, so I just sewed the ends of the velcro. It seems to have worked. I'm going to look to see if velcro comes in sheets instead of the long strips so it will cover the entire backside of new patches we get.

My Commander has the crappy non-fuzzy headliner. I had originally used a few tiny dots of glue from my low heat hot glue gun on a couple of the patches and my husband REALLY had issues with that, so I decided to try pushing the velcroed patches onto the headliner while kind of wiggling them to get them to stick. For now, they are stuck, so yay!

Looks awesome! The arses paddling patch is something I'd love to have, just not sure it'll happen for me.. gotta earn that bad boy..
