State Velcro Patches

I've been putting various patches in my camper shell instead of my cab; I've got some state, some parks, some medical, some bands i.e. Widespread and the Dead, etc.

Ive started collecting velcro patches of all the states that my Tacoma has been through. At first I was just going to get the ones that Ive camped in, but was encouraged to get all the ones that Ive been in (camping or not). I just came across this site: State Patches and have started ordering.

At first I had considered having a buddy of mine make a map (made of vinyl) of the US that I would fill in as I go, but I think having each of the flags organized on the headliner is more unique.

Ill leave this spot open for when I have a picture of the current state of my headliner.

Has anyone else done something like this?

I've been doing this for several years now. It started with a buddy of mine and I putting the loop velcro on our mountain bike helmets for medical info (blood type and NKDA) then onto tactical caps. Instead of the usual morale patches (although I have several of those too) I just had velcro sewn onto all my national park, state park and random patches I had lying around. It eventually migrated to the back of my seat which by chance is made out of the loop side (soft side) of the velcro. Lots of patches needless to say.

I was just wondering how you got loop velcro onto your head liner?

No need for loop on the headliner. It just sticks.

Here are some of mine. Police supply stores locally will add velcro backing to patches for a small fee. I try to take more than one at a time and get a discount

I need to get these out of the envelope they're stored in and on the truck. Might try the 3M spray to put the loop side of velcro on my headliner.

Now that I have the Velcro thing figured out.........

Here is what I have done over the past several months.

I have a bunch of National Park patches, but I think I am going to put them along the back of the cab, under the window (when I build a new rear wall panel.)

And a close-up of the important ones...

All the patches are looking good. I'll have to post a recent pic of the truck. I will say this.. I use self adhesive Velcro strips on patches that don't have a Velcro having and it works great.
