State Velcro Patches

Ive started collecting velcro patches of all the states that my Tacoma has been through. At first I was just going to get the ones that Ive camped in, but was encouraged to get all the ones that Ive been in (camping or not). I just came across this site: State Patches and have started ordering.

At first I had considered having a buddy of mine make a map (made of vinyl) of the US that I would fill in as I go, but I think having each of the flags organized on the headliner is more unique.

Ill leave this spot open for when I have a picture of the current state of my headliner.

Has anyone else done something like this?

Yeah, something like that. National Parks have patches too in case you want to make room for those as well.

There are some very nice patches in that collection Tango. Some that very few should display. Thank you for earning those.

Where are you getting the state patches? I don't see them on that website?

HAHAHA thanks OS X. It pasted the wrong link. Sec...

Fixed.

I aspire to your patch-ness. Im going to have to stare at that for a while to see what you have. National Park patches have already been started too!

I saw those too. I agree.

Not set rules I suppose, but can I put flag patches that I have gone to on the headliner of my truck even if the actual truck hasn't been?

I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of the patches on the headliner.. I have a couple aav patches that will be good to start with... :)

Thanks Stuart... not sure what you mean by "very few should display," but the patches I "earned" aren't easily seen in that picture although a few are from previous assignments. You might be misinterpreting some of the patches as specific commemorative or association membership patches. I'm HDLS not HSLD. :D

Been doing this with the national park patches a couple years now. The benefit of switching vehicles when necessary is a great advantage over stickers.

Where are you finding the state park patches at?

At National Park entrances they'll usually have stores or "Ranger Stations" that sell items related to the area like Arches NP, Canyonlands NP; the patches are there - I've been there with Trump buying them. State Parks - I can't speak to but Google is your friend.

If anyone just collects patches just for the hell of it, I can look for some at contingency at the Baja 500 in a couple of weeks. I've never really looked for them, but if there's a market, there's a vendor!

I checked at three different shops while at Grand Canyon, and left empty handed. I'll keep checking at the next parks though.
