NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

I'm planning on doing the IDBDR from north to south but the passes like the Magruder Corridor may still be snowed in. If so I could definitely swing your way. Is Moscow in part of the Palouse?

Yes, Moscow is part of the Palouse. Absolutely gorgeous here, and Ive got one of the best views in town being on the south end up on a hill with a stellar southern exposure. NRS is right down the hill, I can see their shop right now sitting on the back porch as I type :) A couple friends of mine work there, seems like a great business all around.

Hello,
I am Mark From San Diego area. My wife, and 10 year old son enjoy getting off the beaten path.

Really enjoy reading about all the adventures..

Makes me ready to retire and start traveling more.

Hi All,
Followed Dave on your Tacoma build over the years. Just plain took some of your ideas to make the 02 dblcab with Flippac a good expedition vehicle. Went to Alaska and did Trans Labrador and Newfoundland and many trips to Rockies and west from my Minnesota home base. Like many who get the itch I'm looking for another project that will replace the old vehicle. I drove the 16 Tacoma and 16 Colorado but they just don't have it for me - I'm sure they would make good platforms. Toyota sure is missing the boat with that engine.
Upgrade to big brute like the Ram is an option, but some of the mountain trails would be all but impossible. The weight thing is another consideration, had to use my Tacoma and a Range Rover to pull a loaded Power Wagon with mid weight camper out of the muck once. I do love the idea of the Cummins in the silver beast Dave and will look forward to progress reports.
Best, Tom

Welcome, Tom. There certainly are tradeoffs and considerations when going bigger as you've stated. All depends on your desired use and mission.

Also, why couldn't that Power Wagon owner pull himself out? LOL. Welcome again.

Now comes the truth - he forgot to put lockers in when he hit the hole. See Power Wagons could rule when used responsibly. My idea would be to have Expedition Camper or similar on a Ram for another trip to AK.

New here from Austin, TX. Got a few friends on this board, so I thought I'd check it out. Seems like a nice place to be. I enjoy camping (ofcourse), some fishing, and hiking when I can... Here's my 1999 Toyota 4Runner. Chris
