NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS!

I'm Thom. Kept the user name that I've used online since '96. More than a few here probably know me by it, sorry about that. If you want to point a finger it's all Joaquin's fault that I know of this forum. :)

Do we have to have dorky snorkels here?

Welcome and yes you have to have dorky snorkels here. Why do you think this forum was created in the first place? Geez....

Good, 'cause they come in so handy when I submerge the CTD in the desert sand.

...or breathe that clean, dust-free air that was kicked up by all the Toyota's you're trying to keep up with. ;)

Welcome Thom!

Kenny here, just found out about the new site at DRV. Site looks great. Never posted much on the other site. Been into Jeeps, motorcycles and camping for a long time. Worked in motorcycle road racing for many years and now a machinist for a factory supercross motocross team.

Welcome Kenny! Glad you made it to the DRV too - you survived the gauntlet... the rest is easy now on the forum.

Graham here.

I'll keep my first post short. I need to write 24 more before I can start pushing post-Jeep leftovers and other adventurist delights that are cluttering up the place! :)

Welcome to the new digs Graham!

Are you replacing the LJ with somethin' new?

Thanks Haggis! Glad to be here. Post two. 23 to go.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Sahara LJ is past tense and I am less tense. Its a shame really because I kind of liked the Jeep when it worked. Once upon a time I had a VW Vanagon Westfalia that I used to like when it worked too. Curiously it turned out to be the more reliable of the two vehicles!

So I'm sorry to inform you that you'll probably never get to see your old bumpers again. :(

Now I'm scurrying (scoobying?) around in a 2013 Subaru Forester. It will definitely go everywhere I need it to in the pursuit of whitewater and climbing, but unfortunately won't be going down many of those "I wonder what's down there" places I find. I can see more robust AT tires being useful and possibly skid plates but I'm hoping to keep it as stock as possible and not load it up with loads of heavy stuff I don't need. :camper

I understand...I've been seriously considering selling the Mouser, not that its been any problem, I just don't hardly drive it anymore. Last year it only clocked 4500 miles on the odometer and most of that was by my daughter Allison cruising it back and forth to summer jobs. With her starting college I could sell the LJ and not have to borrow a cent for college with all the scholarships that girl has gotten..hmmmm...decisions...decisions.

At least they didn't break.
