I HATE PORTABLE FRIDGES!

I bought my second portable fridge from Truck Fridge when ih8mud was having a group buy. With shipping and after discount it was $449.25. I bought two because I was using the first one (a Dometic) for hauling frozen groceries in the summer and it wasn't big enough for my Costco hauls.

I just picked up a Max Burton 53 for $435, my first. Seems good, froze water overnight without a problem. Doing a 3 week trip in May, figured it would be good for freezing fresh trout. Thoughts on a dual battery set-up or solar a solar panel? 2016 JKU, thanks

IDK, when it's 105F, dusty and you pull an icy cold beer out of your "ice chest"... Hold the bottle to your temporal artery...Not sure an ARB can complete with super cold and wet:iwojima

Never heard of the Max Burton brand, looks like a nice 'fridge. I like that it has separate freezer section.

Ooooooooooooooooo

Picked up a Pelican 35 before I got my fridge. The lip inside is wide enough to support steam table pans with lids.

We'll be interested to learn your experience with this unit. Looks a lot like a re-branded Dometic.

We bought a fridge when someone on this forum posted up a Black Friday deal this past Christmas. It's been all that and a bag of chips for our camping excursions. Unlike some of you who permanently mounted your fridges in your rig, I need that space to haul my music & PA gear for my band. The fridge gets moved inside when I need to load up that gear. It was after one such gear swapping that I notice a side benefit that NO ONE mentioned when we were doing our research: couch side beer fridge for football games. My ARB 50qt fridge took my football watching to new levels of laziness.

Baseball season, I've been engaging in my own spring training.

Your Amazon.com order of "Dometic CFX-65DZUS Portable..." has shipped!
I hope I hate them as much as everyone else. I guess I will find out this weekend at Cougar Buttes. I have been saving up all the work "good job" points for the last year or so. Out the door cost me $90 after cashing in all the points in.

I have been running one for almost 2 years. Been a great fridge, I would not hesitate to get another.

On our recent trip to Texas we took Ann's Tacoma. It was with a slight bit of panic the day before we left that I realized I never wired her truck for the fridge. The camper is wired, the off road trailer is wired, the jeep is wired, but not the Tacoma... So in a last minute scramble, I wired it up. Luckily I had all the needed parts and pieces in my electrical tool box. 12ga wire, in line fuse, Blue Sea 12v outlet, with a switch on the dash so that when we are not using there is no power to the outlet that I mounted in the bed.
Our Indel B served us well on the trip. It is a little too tall for the tonneau cover to seal, so I just used a strap. Having the fridge made our "rest stop" lunches and in the hotel room dinners. Best of all it allowed us to bring home plenty of Boudin from Cajun country... :)

So @BlkWgn, on the Dometic CFX-65DZUS, what do you set the temp to to keep the icecream frozen but not freeze the beer and water in the bottom of the fridge side.

Can we talk size (cause it matters!!). We like to plan long trips. My husband's job allows for us to be away for 21 days in exchange for him using just 10 vacation days (it's a pretty sweet deal!). Our road trip that we are taking in May/June will be 19 days. I had originally wanted the Dometic CFX-65, but it was too tall for the truck bed and it's tonneau and we need to have the cover on the bed of the truck. That ruled out the 65 and I didn't want to go any smaller than that for the length of the trips that we take. So, the hubby was willing to get the Dometic CFX-95. I like that it has a large compartment that is completely frozen and another compartment that is refrigerated. We were completely set on that size and I was planning my meals accordingly. Then our tax refund came in and the hubby bought a Softopper for the truck. Now we have alot more room in the truck bed and it occurred to us that the CFX-65 is an option again. But I'm not sure if it'll be big enough now! I have 14 days of frozen meals plus refrigerated leftovers, milk, fruit, etc. that will need to go into whatever we get. Thoughts???

The divider wall that comes with it is 2 piece, and there is a lid with it. I have been running it with only the bottom half of the divider in, the temp sensor is on the freezer end. I keep the thermostat set at 24. I have frozen food on the freezer end, non frozen meat on top of the frozen stuff, beer in the bottom of the main section, misc food on top of that and fruit, cheese and butter on the shelf. Everything seems to stay nice.
