Bad News

@jsusmcvet I've looked at those steps, I just don't think they are sturdy enough. We've been using our current system for years. This was more of a freak accident than anything.
Hey Bob,

While working on John's XPCamper/4Wheel Camper for @CON KSO, I had an opportunity to use those accordion stairs, I was wary, given my size, but they worked great, didn't sway from side to side, and I didn't feel like I had to walk carefully on them. They also felt like stairs, by that I mean some stairs aren't made to the right "spec" and you feel like you're walking on makeshift stairs, these felt as natural as a regular staircase

Angie fell out of the camper using those accordion stairs multiple times. One time she broke a toe, most of the times bumps, bruises, and scratches. I had to put a giant swing away handrail but that offered little help. One of the reasons I sold the camper, can't have her breaking a hip.

Getting old officially SUCKS!

Machelle had a follow up appt with the doc...he wasn't happy with what he found. He thinks Machelle may have torn her rotator cuff as well. MRI on her shoulder is in the health insurance authorization stage with a follow up in two weeks to read the MRI and make decisions.:(

^^^^In so many ways. We've been considering a location change, with health insurance considerations until this injury resolved, those plans have been changed.

Shoulders are a very complicated joint, especially when injured. Hope she gets good news with the MRI.

Yikes, she doesn’t have full range of motion?

No, she doesn't. It's not bad but it is painful for her to make some movements, constant pain from her shoulder all the way up her neck, and some weakness. We though it was just muscle pain/atrophy and she could work it out with therapy...not so much.

This x2. Knee replacements are cake. Shoulders, NOT! Wife had frozen shoulders and after a year of therapy with very little relief from the pain lifting arms above shoulder height, they put her to sleep and did another year+ of PT in about 1/2 hour. It worked fortunately. That was years ago and she still does her shoulder exercises like a religious zealot to her credit.

Will be hoping for the best with the MRI results.

Ahh the "manipulation". I had that done. They basically rotate your arm to every possible angle to break (read: rip apart) all the adhesions. Then they pump you full of anti inflammatorys and hope for the best. My cleared up completely and only took ten years. Adhesive Capsulitis or Frozen shoulder sucks immaculate.

Bob, it sounds like your wife's issue was more of an injury and not an autoimmune issue. I'm hoping for the best outcome for her.

I learned how to do this as a Massage Therapist, less aggressively, and over the course of days or weeks. Sometimes surgery is needed, some time manipulation is better.

You already know this and sounds like you are being as supportive and helpful as you can. Keep up the work. Machelle needs you doing all that and more. :)
