Incidentals are starting to add up.
New sheets $100+...the new bed is what I refer to as an RV "king size bed", in actual dimensions it's 4" short on the width and 6" short on length compared to a residential king size bed. Custom sheets, or...a helpful hint form the RV forum, men's suspenders from Walmart to use under the mattress to keep the fitted sheet tight on the mattress (THAT little tidbit of info would have helped in boot camp so many years ago)! Oh yeah, new bed, new sheets, obviously required new pillows, add another $70.
New kitchen obviously requires new dinnerware (duh!), silverware and some pots/pans that all match, (why didn't I think of that?), oh and don't forget the new glass ware, stackable glasses to reduce cabinet space, $300 covered that tab on the interweb.
Figure we'll need a throw rug for the living room, possibly a runner rug for the hallway (really hon', that's a hallway?) for the front door, bathroom, bedroom interface area, $250-300 for both.
Machelle steams my uniforms when they come out of the wash, $50 for a new hand held steamer, no room for the floor model she has used for years.
Speaking of wash, we're still looking/researching the washer/dryer thing...looks like $1200 +/- for a stackable set, or a combination in one machine. Whichever we decide on, all of the research indicates we should count on 1.5+ HOUR to get clothes dry. I had a 110/120V dryer given to me back in the '80's...a fan and a hair dryer would have been faster...doesn't seem that much has changed. For just the two of us we can make it work...if we have the grandchillen', they may learn Grandpa Bob's 4 day chonie cycle!
Machelle is making use of the vacuum storage bags for off season clothes. We got a stick style vacuum from our daughter, no hose connection on it...add $85 for a DeWalt 18v cordless vacuum. I already have an assortment of DeWalt 18v tools, so I didn't have to buy a battery/charger.
We are rapidly burning through our slush funds!
