Do the sponsors have tents to purchase items at the event?

Some will be present however that list has not been finalized. Also, this is not a commercial event per se so the sponsors in attendance will not be there in trade show mode. Contact them directly if you would like them to bring something to the event for you.

I met these adventurers at Overland Expo. Pablo and Anna have been traveling for 13 years, they left Barcelona in 2000 and are still on the road.

Pablo has written 3 books , at least one has been translated to english and can be found on Amazon , the title is "Around the World in 10 Years"

They have traveled throughout Europe, Africa and North and South America and are up in the PNW/Canada right now and will be heading south to MRV.

They maintain a blog http://viajeros4x4x4.wordpress.com/

and also can be folllowed on FB https://www.facebook.com/viajeros4x4x4

They drive a 1991 Mitsubishi Delica L300 4WD van with 2.5 diesel and an extra fuel tank, it has taken them over 200,000 miles to date!

Nice! Looks like good stuff!

I've pretty much accepted that it's a global economy, if the product meets my needs I don't particularly care where it was made. Having said that, I will never understand how something as heavy as cast iron can be made in Japan and shipped across the Pacific Ocean cheaper than it can be made in the US.

How can it not be fair? We put tickets in a jar and someone pulls them out - luck of the draw.

What's not fair about that???

It's not fair when you pick the prize after you see who has the winning ticket, which is what it looked like to me on a few draws.

I can't tell if you're serious or just busting Dave's chops, but I've been to several Mountain and Desert Rendezvous' and have never observed this.

I can certainly see how that may have looked like that happened inadvertantly a couple times because there are several people doing the draw, handing out prizes, etc and they are not pros at conducting a drawing. If you knew Dave and the others, you would never question this, as their ethics (in my view) are beyond reproach. It is interesting that some will question the way free (donated) items are given away for free. I doubt anyone involved in the raffle took anything home.

Everything is Donated there is no reason to not be fair .
Dave has done so much for all of Us that I hope You are just kidding.
Him and all the people that help put this together work really hard.
Also if I never win anything at the Raffle ,I already won by being there.
