This is a tough one because, like most here, I enjoy different genres of music. Lately, I have been stuck on a mix of Led Zeppelin, Metallica and my GoTo which is Country Music.

Really depends on the mood, the scene, and the vehicle. Driving out between Ozona, TX and Fort Stockton there are some areas where some old classic movie music works great..."How the West was Won", "Silverado", and "True Grit". But then others I like to just hear the tires and engine as silence around in my life is rare - a three and a seven year old.

Driving the car around in the city I like Daft Punk, Jimmy Buffett, Flux Pavilion, and a few others.

When heading to the desert:

Sometimes we’re in the mood for this…

Sometimes we need some hillbilly flavor…

And other times something of the classic metal genre gets the call…

Than there’s times when even Judas isn’t metal enough…

When I just don't know what I'm in the mood for, Neil Young. Not a particularly good singer or guitarist for that matter but I find some of his music poetic.
Comes A Time
Harvest Moon
After The Gold Rush
Yeah, he put out a lot of crap too.

Anybody old enough to admit to listening to Christmas music? I don't care for the traditionally sung but I like A Midwinter's Night Dream by Loreena McKinnett.

And there is the perfect lonely road for this song:

and I love this:

I look forward to winter/Christmas time so I don't feel odd listening to George Winston's album "December".

Nice video links.

Whoa... there's some really good music in this thread. I threw down a few tunes at the other site, and I'll throw 'em down again, good tunes for wide-open two-wheel road thrashing on S-2 here in Dago County, especially at "a hundred-and-a-half" with primo desert views around every long bend...

"D.O.A." by Van Halen

"Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter

"You Shook Me" by AC/DC

Yeah, I sure love flyin' down S-2, where the road is hot and the tires sticky... just gotta watch that windblown sand in patches, and gear down for those twisty sections. As for 4-wheelers, some of my best memories involve hauling ass down S-2 in the Oldsmobile at a hundred miles per hour, with "D.O.A." cranked on my stereo and nobody else in sight for miles and miles (kinda like the Who song).

A big "Thank You!!!" to all who posted those classic music videos... Where the hell would we be without music? Every time I camp in the mountains or desert, or out on the islands where there is no network, I crank classic tunes. Once in awhile, when the venue is so badass that no music is necessary, I'll simply listen to my motor while driving, or check out a million stars while camping... :)
