Whatcha drinking?

I've been watching Moonshiners on cable. It has my curiosity peaked. Can anyone recommend a brand that you can buy at the store? It seems like something that should be in my redneck tool kit.

I think moonshine you can buy at the store is called "liquor" or "booze" and comes with fancy labels and tastes like whiskey. Part of the fun of moonshine is that it's home-made. :)

In all seriousness, I imagine some of the white whiskies would approximate moonshine. The one white bourbon I've tried was decent.
 
Moonshine is not aged in various types of barrels which is where the color comes from. I might try a sip of Moonshine but that's about it; I rank that up there with home made antibiotics. No I'm not talking about the person that actually knows what they are doing and makes small batches for themselves and friends like the people that home brew beer. I'm talking about the dude selling it out the back of his rusted pickup in washed out milk jugs.

I wouldn't turn my nose up to either, but I agree; bourbon over Tennessee whiskey. Most days it's black coffee until noon (I like my coffee like I like my women... without a penis.), and Miller Lite when I get home and for supper.
