The Road to "Totality"

Machelle asked about our clothes situation for two weeks. I reminded her that you can get four days out of a pair of chonies...inside, outside, frontwards and backwards...that got me "the look". Apparently we'll be doing laundry somewhere at some point.

5 days if you are willing to go commando one day.

You may not know it, but major truck stops like Flying J, Pilot, Loves, and TA have laundry facilities inside. Sometimes easier than finding a laundromat on the road.

Dang, that reminded me of shower planning as well. I'll bet we'll sprinkle in a motel here and there.

@bob91yj - we've decided not to travel with the dogs since we're now flying back from ID. Are you bringing your pups? (shhhh, don't tell Frankie yet)

I'll have my Eccotemp L5 on demand system with me. I do my laundry in a bucket with a plunger. I'll bring it for the butter churn experience of it all. It get's clothes clean-er than not and good enough until you can make it to a proper facility. I also carry about 40' of 550 cord and clothes pins with me. I'd like to find a small clothes wringer for faster drying. I have a nice rear stall for showering using my rear awning. Ready!

And here I found a Camp Chef triton 5L heater on Craigslist near me for $50...not sure I need to buy it! Haha

Showers too, used them on occasion when traveling via motorcycle

Yep, use them all the time. Expensive, though, unless you fuel there on a regular basis. I get a free shower every day at FJ/Pilot truck stops.

^^^^Nice! You'd still be in line at the DMV if you were trying to get a California green sticker!

It's an off highway registration sticker required for non-licensed vehicle in CA. All of the fees collected were supposed to go towards maintaining OHV area's...it has since been re-directed to the general fund.

The "Collective fund" I'm sure. Scary stuff that....

Deadwood Lookout and directions up 555 or 279. I'll be coming in on 279 since I'll be towing a trailer.
