Great stress relief to let some arrows fly through the backyard. My father in law was into bow hunting in his younger years and after learning the basics from him I scored a killer deal on a Bear compound bow from ebay. I've never hunted with it, but the feeling of an arrow being let loose and then hitting a target is second to none.
 
My daughters boyfriend is into archery, and he's got one of his boys and my grandson into it now. I can't believe all of the new fangled bling they have available these days. When I got my archery merit badge, we used recurve bows, if you had a wrist guard and the finger guards you were high end!

I remember using a wrist guard, and still getting my elbow! OK, so I was 10...

I remember catching the back of my wrist guard and nearly ripping it off my wrist, or was it nearly ripping my wrist off my arm?

I miss my old bear takedown bow. It was stolen by a supposed friend in the late 70s. If you see one for sale reasonably, let me know. When I looked them up a couple times the prices were pretty crazy.
