Funny as hell. The look on their faces I gotta say is a little worrisome.

I go with Asolo though as my backpacking boots.

Go buy a pair of Danner boots and be done with it. Make sure they have the USA flag sewn on them and you're good. I have ten years on a pair still going strong.

This x2. I have owned a pair of the Fort Lewis boots go 20 years. I finally sent them last year to be re-crafted. They came back looking like new. They replaced everything but the leather uppers (which they reconditioned).

I scanned through Danners site recently, and was turned off by the amount of hipster/urbanite boots I am now seeing. Or, are they lumbersexuals now...

I had a single pair of zippered hi-tec Magnum IIs (I think) with the zipper, for all the years I was a deputy. I did have to have the soles re-glued on the toes, but with regular polishings, they survived patrol, a short stint in dicks, and the academy before that. I still have them. I still wear them from time to time. I do like having a 10" boot for my boot knife and ankle holster.

Now, I have my Keens that Ive been wearing pretty much every day. Comfortable out of the box, enough that I did that last Roll Out that I did with them less than 2 days old. I can also wear my ankle holster and knife with them, but being much lower, the straps are on my sock/skin, Vs the boot itself with my old Magnums.

So my Merrell boots are completely worn out. So today I picked up a pair of Danners boots. I scored them for 100.00 from one of our local Facebook clubs I belong too. Brand new!

Great deal! Doubt I will ever buy a different brand. Love my Danner's. My feet are so beat up and broken. The danners and the extra support help me manage foot pain. They are a wee bit warm during these summer days, but hell, I am sweating anyway.
