That coffin rack is the bees knees.... I remember being as excited when the LHA/LHD class ships were outfitted with them. No more "heave out and trice up" Very nice detail.

Going back to springs... The first thing that comes to mind is, does anyone build custom springs? I had custom leaves made for my Tacoma that accounted for lift, load and ride height. If someone does that, just buy exactly what you need, without an off-the-shelf, less than perfect solution.

That would be neat. But I'm unaware of any company in SoCal making truly custom coil springs.

They shouldn't need the vehicle, just weights, which you have, desired ride height and lift. If they do it, they should know the vehicle particulars. Or see if an aftermarket suspension builder will do custom springs.

Again, I'm impressed by the details you're sharing with us. Much appreciated. Not sure the CFO appreciates it, but, hey, you can't keep everybody happy.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you organize all your storage. Especially the boxes.

Look nationwide. My springs came from CO.

I'm aware. Many, many places like Alcan and Deaver and National Spring do custom leaf springs. Coils not so much, and info is scarce. Yes, I've been on Google a bit. Still researching.

This is why.

So last night with lights blazing and heater on and fridge and water pump working we brought the batteries down to 80% overnight. As of 1000 this morning, and with the sun at a less than ideal angle of about 45 degrees off the starboard side, the solar system is already winning the fight. Here's what I'm seeing from the 160 watt Go Power panel and controller:

90% - with an iPhone and an iPad plugged in and charging.

Today we had the opportunity to try out the indoor shower. First step is to convert the dinette area for shower ops and hang the curtain on the back two hooks.

image.jpeg

Once that's done, it's on to the front hooks and ensuring your drainage goes into the shower pan.

The pan is easy, just remove the grill and lay the bungee corded lower portion of the shower curtain into the pan and replace the grill. Here you can see the grill removed and the receptacle for the shower hose. There is an identical receptive on the outside of the camper. These are made by Bullfinch and very nice.

Once the grill is in place you are ready to connect the shower head and get busy.

image.jpeg

Insert the connector and turn slightly counter clockwise to lock in. Further rotation to the left controls flow and temperature.

image.jpeg

Shower head in the mounted position. Can be removed and has an on/off switch to conserve water.

We started this trip with about 2/3 of a tank (it was topped off with a full 20 gallons for the shakedown cruise to MRV) and by the time we began shower ops for Savannah and I we were at 1/3 of a tank according to the FWC Guess-O-Meter...

Water after two long weekend trips, dishes, hand washing and two hot showers: Under 5 gallons left. Even with a modicum of water discipline we still managed to burn through 5 gallons showering by my guesstimate. Not bad really but confirms my requirement for an additional optional 10 gallons via Scepter cans.

And the batteries look happy after sitting here all day in the sun. Obviously, a more accurate battery reading can be achieved via the GoPower solar controller.

Overall, my impression with the shower is pretty positive. Water pressure was actually better than what we had on our larger Jayco Baja, and far nicer than our Zodi Extreme. I'm not a small guy, and was able to easily get in there and handle business without any grief. Me being me, I've already identified a few mods I'd like to make and I'll cover those later.

Thankfully, there were no pictures of you actually using the shower.

Maybe you could put a spare water tank in place of the factory spare tire? Ought to be able to get an additional 25-30 gallons there. Use a small water pump to move it into the main tank.

Seriously? Is Corona that far away from Murietta?

They supply IVD with their springs. Call Jeremy and ask for IVD's contact at Eibach.

They are also looking for your vehicle to test - with this application they will fall all over themselves, I suspect. Read this: Eibach Wants Your Vehicle - http://eibach.com/m-america/en/eibach-wants-your-vehicle

Completely forgot about them. Noted.

Good luck - I hope they can help you out. I suspect a solution for you would have far-reaching benefits for many other drivers.

Plus, I've never been a big fan of air bags with your type of application... they're just not durable enough for your potential use. Example... three years ago at Expo West recall Kowboy Holt and his Maroon extended-cab 2007 Ford F250 7.3L with FWC similar camper that was on display next to us under the trees. Air bags failed him repeatedly, and he went back to custom ALCAN leaf packs... since then he never looked back and he has taken that rig ALL OVER the place; even black trails in Moab.
