Thanks, got in touch with ComeUp and they said it is fine to mount it foot down. Hopefully the warn crowd won’t be mad that there is not a warn winch in the warm bumper!!!! LOL

Speaking of training, have that scheduled in Jan with OEX in NC.

My wife and I spent a couple days with the OEX crowd last year. Good stuff!

Rule of thumb for a winch is generally 1.5 times the vehicle weight, another vote for the 12.5 being adequate.

So today finally had time to re-spool the new winch and like. The last wrap of line is different color than the rest. Is that normal?

That's the first time I've seen winch line come from the factory like that. It's a good idea. In the past, savvy winch users have put colored tape or small sections of colored heat shrink tubing on winch lines to indicate the stopping point where you shouldn't spool out any more line.

The original steel cable on my Superwinch S9000 came with a red tint on the last 10 or so feet

the new winch line I installed has heat resistant orange sleeve acts as indicator for spooling line out, protects against drum heat & abrasion
