Health and Safety Plan - Please Read!

All American Adventurist members should have requisite First Aid training and be prepared to act as the main line of defense
for First Aid, during any 4WD trip or Rendezvous event.

***POC for First Aid or EMS issues on site, please see Dave or Stuart.***

Should an emergency or Unsafe Condition be encountered by any person at our event, A STOPA
process must immediately be activated (Air Horn, Vehicle Horn, “FREEZE”) – STOPA:

1) Stop
Stop your vehicle or whatever you are doing immediately. Ensure you are safe and proceed to make the
immediate area around you safe.
*Vehicle - Driver to secure vehicle and lock down (vehicle in park with park brake engaged, engine off and
chock wheels). Close all doors when exiting the vehicle. Leave keys in the ignition.

2) Think
Take a deep breath. Exit the vehicle if you can do so safely. If you cannot exit safely, remain where you are.
Do not rush, remain calm.
*Driver is first person in and last person out of the vehicle after securing the vehicle. Driver decides on a
vehicle exit strategy.

3) Observe
Process what you observe. Assess any potential threats. How can you assist best? What action is required
now? Is someone in charge of the situation?
*Look for direction from the assigned safety person, if there is no assigned safety person, assume the role.

4) Plan
Think about how you will aid. - CPR, 911, Crowd Control, Log Timeline, EMS directions to scene etc.
*Delegate responsibilities for plan.

5) Act
Carry out the plan, be ready to adapt the plan.

***Here is the "Hold Harmless Agreement" the camp requires, attached to this post - PLEASE PRINT AND SIGN AND BRING WITH YOU!***

***NO CAMPFIRES - NO CHARCOAL!***

If we have to ask someone to abide by fire safety rules, we won't. Offenders will be asked to leave.

They're dropping like flies.

No worries, after a decade of doing this we’ve come to recognize this as the “swirl effect”.

There’s always a last minute flurry of personal issues, and it can get crazy to manage with so much going on at once, which is why I close down the RSVP process the last couple of days prior to the event.

We are now on final approach and in travel mode ourselves, see you guys in California.

***Here is the "Hold Harmless Agreement" the camp requires, attached to this post - PLEASE PRINT AND SIGN AND BRING WITH YOU!***
