My Ram is a 2013, and that sounds like the component that I had to have replaced about 3 months ago.

Truck spent more than a week at the dealership.

The TIPM is the computer underneath the fuse block, but both the computer and fuse block are replaced as one piece

Get it fixed yet? I hate dodge's computer operated electronics!

New fuel pump is in it, with a temporary computer bypass and I should be able to pick it up after work tonight. Computer is ordered and will be anywhere from a couple of days to two weeks then it will go back in to have the computer changed. Awful lot of money and headache instead of a simple fuse and a relay. Gotta love the over engineering that goes into a modern vehicle

Hey Chris get it back to 100% yet?

the TIPM computer came in on Friday and I dropped the truck off at Glenn Thomas Dodge last night. They say it should only take a day so I should have it back and 100% by tomorrow, but hopefully tonight. Also picked up some rear brake pads for it. Did the fronts about 2 weeks ago, no problems with the rear but seemed like a good time to add to take care of it before there is a problem.

Good deal! Are you going to be at the overland expo at the end of may?

Picked it up last night and everything seem sto be functional. Not happy with the dealership, but that is another story for another day.

As for OVX, yes, I will be there Verdesardog, be good to see you again

Really cool build. I'm just now starting mine on our 2014 F350 diesel 4x4. It's kind of funny when people say, "You're truck's too big for over-landing" etc. I look forward to following your thread. This is going to be our first year at Overland Expo so we're excited.

It has been a while since I have updated, but don't worry you have not missed anything but trips. One such trip out to Mojave over Thanksgiving the starting battery decided it was done. @Dave tried jumping it, but in the 20 deg weather the taco just did not have the power but @Mike was there with the Dodge and a magical device called a power probe and we were on the way home. Ordered up an Exile group 31 since Sears no longer has the platinum line of batteries

In the battery swap I found that the battery isolator was not exactly isolating, so an upgrade was in order. Here 8s the 200 (not sure I belive that 200) next to the upgraded 500 constant 700 surge isolator

Not only is it physically larger the hand scale says it is 3 to 4 times heavier. It has not come in yet, but since I am in there doing it I am also upgrading the breaker to a better quality.

I also moved the control box and did all new wiring for the winch, but I forgot to grab some photos of that so they will come later.

I'm using that big solenoid for my setup and have been very happy with it. Solid.

Yep, that trip was the coldest we have camped in yet. 8pm was 18*. Burrrrrrr...

As for the "magical Power Probe", it's a great electrical tester to carry. It works like a test meter/light but also can supply power or ground to a circuit. In Cris's case, I was able to supply 12 volts to the large relay and got it to click over and hook to his secondary battery. I bought one after having a buddy troubleshoot my truck at El Mirage when it wouldn't start. Found a bad fuel cutoff relay. Bought a Power Probe after that (actually I got 2 for Christmas presents, have one at home and one in the truck). I also carry a spare fuel cutoff relay now.

Here is the Power Probe site and the unit I have, http://www.powerprobe.com/product.php?iProductID=13
