That is a nice little trailer. I would love to have a trailer to tug around, but I lack the parking space for it. Also, with as large as my truck is, Im trying to adopt the "if it doesnt fit, it doesnt go" mentality. (and also why Im reconsidering my desire for roof racks, aside from my urge to spend money I don't have)

awesome truck man, i love seeing fullsize rigs wheeling and getting used. the sliders are interesting, ive never seen a slider that attaches to the frame like that.

So, the White Knuckle sliders have been on for a while now, and have taken some good hits, have some custom detail added to the paint, and are holding up beautifully.

I will hopefully have an update on Sat night as the wagon is getting a bit of a face lift on Friday Night . . . . . . Pics and details to come

Just a little bumper from Mercenary Offroad. Dont think there is anything going on at work tomorrow, so you will have to come back for the details.

MercenaryOffroad.com A-Bomb Bumper

As the teaser pic shows, the wagon is now sporting a prototype A-Bomb bumper from MercenaryOffroad.com Todd has been making this bumper for the Diesel Rams for a while but had not been able to get his hands on a Gas version, or a Power Wagon, luckily I was able to fill both of those options. I went up to his shop in Camarillo Ca a few weeks ago. We pulled the bumper, winch, and winch mount out of the truck
taking measurements as we went.

We then used an unfinished center section from a diesel bumper and started fitting it to the truck

Todd sketched a few ideas on the bumper, and made some cuts to allow clearance around the smart bar, and did a bit of trimming on the truck to allow the bumper to tuck up tight

Here are a couple of shots of the heart of the bumper roughly fit to the truck

I knew it would be a little bit before any progress was made as he was swamped with items for Offroad expo, Huckfest, and SEMA, but last week I got this photo along with a question "What is your availability this weekend?"

as you may suspect, I was pretty excited to see this and made arrangements to leave work early on Friday for a trip to Camarillo.

Todd had the bumper all ready for a test fit so we got straight to stripping the front of the truck down and getting the bumper up in place.

We marked the sections of inner wheel well that would need to be trimmed

and Todd got out the Tig to put in the centering shims

This is a horrible picture, but the bumper is on

and look at all that clearance

Of Course, I had to take it somewhere, so we made some stops on the way to the Mt Baldy Lodge for Dinner Saturday.

I may have gotten a bit too close, good thing it is just the temporary finish

The rock was fun, but I wanted bigger, of course, there was a little car parked in front of the big rock, and I did not want it in my pictures, so we did some thinking, and next thing I knew I was parked on a tire

I think the bumper is pretty awesome, but Todd has a few modifications he wants to make, and I will hold up my end of the bargain by trying to find a weak spot (which I dont expect to find). I also need to change out the fairlead. It is a loaner, and I don't care for the look of the plain aluminium.

I am looking at either the Poison Spyder Customs fairlead in black

or the Factor 55 1.0 in black

Right now I am leaning towards the Poison Spyder, but it could easily go either way, and am getting a price on both from CJC

Downright sexy looking bumper! I kinda prefer the look of the factor 55 fairlead myself. Can't wait to see it in person!

I don't mean to be too picky but I think the technical term that eludes you is, "stupid-amount" of clearance. Very impressive articulation for a big 'ol fat domestic girl.

Nice looking bumper! I assume the notches at both sides of the center section of the bumper provide for access to clevis points for a recovery shackle? If that's the case that is a very clean design.

Now you're going to want to get in there and put a high sheen on your tie rods and axle since you're showing off your private parts routinely...

I think your technical term describes it perfectly. There is absolutely no room to tuck the bumper higher without cutting off the body mounts and core support. As for the articulation, it actually had a bit left in her, Dodge really did do a nice job with these things, and the Carli springs really helped it along. As for seeing all the dirty bits, they are slowly going away, the plans are to upgrade to the "T" style steering found on the newer Dodges, and a set of control arms. The axle could use a paint touch up though.

Oh, almost forgot, yes, the cutouts are for shackles, one on each side.

Reminds me of a Red Bull ad... You gotta have wings.. LOL

Looks good and mad amounts of clearance. What was the total weight? Looks lighter than a lot of ones out there.
